If we get Sesko over the line, be interesting what number he is given. I still think personally, numbers 1-11 are important and players should want the one to their position. We’ve seen Cunha get number 10 from Rashford, be a statement if Sesko gets the number 9.

I have to agree with Ports and I really think the psychology of the first 11 shirts has been a mess in the time since Fergie retired.
Yet another stupid and thoughtless lack of attention to detail.
If your number resonates with a history of the position and the right to wear the shirt then there's an expectation. Not in a million years for example should Mount ever have been given the number 7 shirt, seriously? Look at the players who had to earn the right to wear that number and yet now you don't even need to be a fit player or prove anything to wear one of the greatest shirts in history.
So sorry Shappy I seriously disagree its far more important if we want to set standards.

I couldn't disagree more captain. Its just a number.
Just because mount or di Maria didn't excel as no 7 does not diminish the greats who have worn it.
In my view if a player has a favourite no try to accommodate that. If not give him a number to write his own legacy.
I get that some players in the past have made certain numbers iconic if someone wants one of those numbers and their free then let them have a go its no big deal.
Some players feel better others like keane didn't care and I think we have had a couple of dodgy 16's since carrik and keane.
Its one of those things that you either believe in or not so I'm not saying your wrong. I just see nothing in the numbers any of them wear. Best wore 7 and 11 in not sure he was too fussed ronaldo will only wear 7. Messi didn't get 10 at psg. So he wasn't that bothered.

Yes Leon has it currently. I'm sure if he wants it Leon won't mind.
Its only a number but if sesko feels better in 30 then if it's within their power to give it to him i think they should. If not suck it up and wear a different number
I remember martial being unhappy when the fact is he shouldn't have got any number for a long as he did.
