I think the 3 biggest winners in terms of game time for united year on year will be amad yoro and dorgou. I think dorgou will be one of our best and most consistent players this season.
I think the 3 biggest losers will be maguire dalot and rasmus.
Casimero will join the losers list if we get a new midfielder.
Unless we get a lot of injuries i think mount mainoo and shaw will struggle to get much game time. Really looking forward to the season. Lots of new players in the big clubs so it will be interesting to see how they all perform and settle.

I think Dalot plays more than he don’t that’s for sure, plus I think Cass plays more than Ugarte.

I hope Dalot doesn't play more than he doesn't.
Lets hope Amad nails that position down for the season.

I'm interested to see who improves under RA, there are already signs that fitness is better, and some players have been working hard. I'm hoping some may surprise us.

I won't be surprised at all AJH. i'm quite sure there will be significant improvement.
Dalot will play a lot less than last year I think that's for certain. He played on the left a lot last year and I hope to God we don't see him there at all next season.

Recently, I said that I thought of Dorgu as a left-footed Dalot.
On that, I was entirely wrong and I'm more than happy to see him shut me up so emphatically - he's looking awesome atm.
For me, winners and losers for any metric this coming season will mostly still be determined by who else arrives.
So far, I think:
Amad should thrive at RWB with Mbeumo to work with. I know German is a big Dalot fanboy, but there's not a chance he'll be first-choice RWB - RA's system will always work better with a marauding Amad than a dithering Dalot, because quick transitions need quick brains, and on that basis Dalot would be 3rd behind Maz.
Dorgu, on current form, looks the best player we have. If he continues to unlock further levels throughout the season, he could well be POTY.
Yoro is already looking even more assured, even better bringing the ball out, even better with his reading, just even better all round. Maz and Fredricson each look perfectly suitable deputies, but I expect Yoro to nail it this season.
Then, for me, I think Mainoo, rotated with Fernandes and Cunha, will properly find his place this season. Mainoo's core attributes are, imo, provisionally better suited to the No8 role in the RA system than those of Fernandes, but the latter's all-round game is understandably at a higher level. I think we might see the return of baller-Mainoo this season.
As it stands, I think the losers will be Onana, Maguire, Casemiro, Mount and Hojlund. I know the latter 2 have looked better in preseason, but they each need to really kick on to convince us all fully. If Martinez and/ or Shaw have more injury setbacks this season then they'll also find the near future at the club having no room for them.
The main winner, imo, will be Amorim.
He's got 2 excellent EPL-proven attacking players he actually really wanted as first-choice - that's an achievement that shouldn't be overlooked considering our current appeal?
He secured the signings of 2 LWBs (LWB/ LB was previously a real problem position) last season who are now both looking the business.
He's getting the trimmed-down squad he wanted and less games.
The faith he's shown in the academy players is seemingly backed up by the suits.
Our recruitment strategy is finally taking shape with the focus being driven to work ethic, stamina and athleticism as much as to talent.
We're finally getting into the task of ridding the club of disruptors.
We will finish higher than 15th.
We should push up through the congested middle pack of quality and find ourselves much closer to Brighton, Forest and Newcastle.
Amorim will be the main winner this season.

Yes finally this could be the season the penny drops for ole slabhead. I still hope he knocks his head and realises this season and lots to leave.
Mainoo has looked good so far as has Rasmus, they may play more than you think Ken.
Dalot agree on his last season as is Maguire, hopefully Shaw. Agree Mount will play less and probably he looks to leave next year also.
We might see some more depart at Xmas. AN early clearout.

I am certainly no Dalot fanboy, your making that up as usual to suit your own narrative… so for you to understand in simple terms I said I think Dalot plays more games than Amad at RWB and that every manager that’s been in since Dalot arrived played Dalot as first choice RB or RWB, so they can’t all be wrong and they certainly know more than you.
I am perplexed how even in your world that makes me a Dalot Fanboy….

German
It's because, despite not one coach ever actually preferring Dalot at RWB and not one ever stating as such (RB is a role with different responsibilities so your reference to it is utterly immaterial), you still persist with the, frankly, ill-informed opinion that Dalot will be RA's preference at RWB.
So, either you simply do not understand RA's system and what his demands are of his RWB, or you have a particular preference that just cannot be countered by reality.
Ultimately buddy, considering how much shade you throw at any opinion that differs at all from your own, it might be of benefit for you to find some highlights of the 2 to actually understand what they each bring to the table.
Nothing personal, but you are 100% wrong.
02 Aug 2025 15:36:39
LOL. Delusional. Clearly you been watching something else for past 6 months because RA started Dalot himself in virtually every game that he was available for, only games he did not start were when he was injured and suspended and coming back from injury so I am hardly 100% wrong am I….
