I'm fairly sure that in order to get rid of Garnacho at a decent price, we're going to end up doing some kind of PSR-friendly swap deal.
He wants to stay in England. So, what would you prefer? Realistic options only, as I'm not sure we'll be of much interest to Cole Palmer right now!
Villa for Onana? Watkins? Martinez?
Chelsea for Jackson? Chukwuemeka?
Spurs for Maddison? Son?
Forest for Anderson? Hijack MG-W?
Newcastle would be a good fit but not sure there's anyone realistic that would benefit us.
Palace for Mateta?
For me, I'd be all over Villa for Onana. He'd make such a difference to our midfield - pace, power etc. I'm also against the tide here but Nicolas Jackson really would suit Cunha and Mbuemo. He's a better option than Watkins by far. I can't see Maddison or Son getting much of a game at Spurs under Frank. Maddison and Gibbs-White can't play in the same side. Either of the Forest lads would be good for us, but can't see Garnacho wanting to go there. Likewise Mateta and Palace.
Villa, Chelsea or Spurs it is then.

Watkins for me.
A stop gap yes but if we can get him 40m or under he’s the one.
Prem proven. Consistent goal scorer for the past 3 years and his link up play is very good, as we can see from the number of assists he gets.

Watkins for me as he gets goals but I wouldn't mind onana too as he'd be a cracking addition to a slow paced midfield. can't wee get both ? stuff it, get martinez too and flog sancho to villa.

Watkins, has pace, suits the formation, proven goalscorer. Mbuemo, Cuhna, Watkins would make a huge difference vs last time year.

Although I don't think Watkins is the right age profile we should be looking at. I'd take him from the list above. there's also the link with Mbeumo from the old BMW front three at Brentford.

Watkins for me, no problem with his age, we need experience we need epl proven, not another Rasmus!

From comments by Ornstein (seems relatively accurate) it looks like we are looking at alternative options for striker than the ones being mentioned. I am sure that does not rule out anybody and with Osihmen, Gyokeres, Ekitike all looking like done deals we are staring to see who is left to go for.
Had a conversation with my boy earlier and he suggested if money is tight and Garnacho is hell bent on staying in the premier league could we do a loan for Watkins with Villa doing the same for Garnacho (interest seems to have cooled on him) / . Both with options to buy. pushes the striker decision on a year without committing £50/ 60m, potentially allows Hojlund to learn from Watkins as a number 2/ 3 option and any money we then have from Antony/ Sancho goes on a midfielder.

I like Onana both as a player and a bloke. He comes across like a a good lad, speaks really well and has an air of authority about him.
His physical presence would add a lot to our midfield.
I’d be delighted with Watkins as back up but not as the main forward, we’d just need to replace in 12-24 months.

Seems like you guys haven't had enough of Onana ?.
