Walk away and sign who after weeks of negotiations and about £5m apart in valuation with the US tour next week? Surely they should have moved on weeks ago, walking away now proves nothing more than utter incompetence.

Walk away? You would do that to a player who has apparently said he only wants United, to the point where he has turned down other clubs? What message would that send to others we are trying to buy? Don’t trust United. Depends how close the offer is to what Brentford want, but get the deal done.

Red man, the message it sends is we are now serious when it comes to not paying over the odds for players.
We've complained for years that we pay stupid prices for players and then we try to do something about it and complain that we're not getting the deal done.

Bench Warmer are you serious they don’t want £100m they want around the same guaranteed fee that we paid for Cunha, a player of a similar age who arguably had a better season. Newcastle has just paid £55m for Elanga he scored 6 league goals last season Mbeumo got 20.
Chelsea have just paid £60m for Pedro, he scored 10 league goals, they paid nearly £50m for Gittens he scored 8.
I’m curious just what is our negotiating position? If we walk away who do sign for £60-65m with the same output, and he’s prem proven which every one goes on about! Mbeumo has scored 38 league goals in the past three seasons he is not overpriced. Messing about has actually made our job harder as lesser players are being sold for similar fees.
Do you actually believe walking away from a deal that we’ve been negotiating for nearly 5 weeks for a legitimately priced player with no pivot option makes us look stronger. It’s would make us look even more incompetent in my opinion.
I can understand them trying to negotiate a better deal but pre season has started we all know Brentford will not lower their price we’re desperate for goals so stop messing around and get the deal done now and let Amorim work on trying to build a new attacking line up.

There is clearly more holding up the deal than a few million! So just let it play out one way or other, your all talking as if you know it’s just a matter of a few million, it maybe something else entirely and clearly is…
The club is working hard on ins and outs, just wait and see, we know and they know we need another 5/ 6 players in and same out…. it will happen it will be GK, if anyone foolish enough to take the clown, but it will certainly be CB and a midfielder and strikers (2)

If you want to talk about being serious Bench Warmer, then if we take two months to reach the price Brentford want, so we pay what they want anyway, we would have wasted two months, when we could have had him in place, is that serious?

Bolger…how do you know if what they are doing currently is their plan! You don’t, your only assuming that the plan they had is in some alignment of what plan you think they have….
It could all be going to their plan 100% just wait and see.
