Somebody suggested Partey recently as potential transfer option. Can you imagine if we had signed him (I know it was not all likely)

On a serious note, and without judging Partey as I don't know the facts about his care, are the clubs guilty of not giving enough proper education to these players about how to act as a mature person should and especially towards women.

Agree2 Disagree0

This has been around for a long time, seems like they've finally caught up with him.

Players shouldn’t need to be told that it’s not okayto (allegedly) rape people, Salford. It’s kinda wild that the CPS waited for his contract with Arsenal to end before pressing charges.

I would say that it's not the responsibility of a club to educate a player on conduct in their personal lives, and where exactly would the line be drawn - should clubs employ people to chaperone players when they're likely to encounter other people?

If Partey's guilty then, like with Greenwood, the buck stops with him. Before I was even a teenager I knew that no meant no and we all know that he, as an adult, would have understood that too.

It's the values of respect, dignity and empathy that are different, not status or privilege - the clubs have no responsibility whatsoever to ensure their employees act like normal people when in the company of others.

It is very odd that the alleged offences were 2021/ 22 and were an open secret. Surely they didn't wait for his contract to expire, that would be abhorrent.

I agree that ideally it should not be necessary to tell any person tape is not ok. Without at all excusing such terrible behaviour if you have young men paid huge amounts of money who are treated like they can do no wrong and who have lots of women and drinking etc then one can understand why those who are not educated do think they can do what they want without comeback.

Nope, I completely disagree Salford.

Those boundaries of conduct and respect for others should be taught and learnt from quite a young age - mostly from their parents and early peers.

Put simply, there is absolutely no sensible mitigation drawn from any kind of circumstance - none whatsoever.

Every man who commits crimes of this nature has displayed abject disrespect and contempt for every woman - including their mothers.

If he's guilty, then he is outright scum, it really is that simple for me.

A question for you:
If the bubble in which these people exist instills such a firmly impervious mindset, then why are we still talking about a distinct minority of players who do these things that isn't too dissimilar to general society?

Tony you can bet that if this was united the media would be having a field day, they did with greenwood and all that happend around that. Arsenal should have some questions to answer, because it doesn’t look great tbf.

This has been publicly known information for three years, haven't you heard the boos? There were recurring discussions of selling him, and obviously we chose not to extend his contract.
He is technically still innocent, but aye it's been a weird one having him in the team these years.

Salford I agree 100% with Ork and, NO, one CANNOT 'understand' why those who are not educated do think they can do what they want without comeback. To 'understand' is abhorrent.
