I've seen some stories about emi Martinez to united. I have no idea if there is any truth, but it did get me wondering if he would be a good and viable signing for you. Would he be a good option?
Any time I've seen him, he looks decent but it's so hard to know. I remember Bosnich looking great in a Villa jersey but that crown is very heavy when you move to United.
What do we reckon?

Wc winner big personality good keeper. I'd be happy to have him. I don't think it's a runner to be honest which is a pity.

I would expect him to wear the crown a little easier than others. He would be a solid option that on current form could be worth several points a season.

Why is everybody got this notion at 31-32 players are starting to wane, it’s 2025 not 1980s these players have the best of everything are elite athletes…. I don’t even like Martinez but he’ll I would take him over the clown we got anyday.
The United shirt would not weigh heavy on him, he got the personality to just shrug that rubbish off too.
He would be a great signing… I am not sure there are many more out there who would suit us better at this moment in time.

German, since he won the WC, I would argue his performances have started to drop off this season.
Can he bring back the form of the previous season, maybe. Maybe not.
I say build for the future, if the rumours are true and it is UTD and Atletico looking at him, that mean Oblak is available.
Oblak or Martinez, I know which I would prefer from those 2, however, I still maintain buying for the future is the way forward.

Is the option Oblak or Martinez or are we just throwing in an unrealistic option vs realistic option?
We would all prefer Oblak but I don't see him leaving Athletico and if he did I don't see us being able to afford him.
Theoretically Martinez is entering a good period for goalkeepers and could be a solid player for the next 3/ 4 years. are we reallys saying no to that if the price was good. Yes there are young goalkeepers out there but they come with a risk, can they step up, is there ceiling going to be reached etc. wheres I think we know what we are getting with Martinez and compared to the past 2 seasons of Onana I would take that.

That’s ridiculous because Oblak ain’t even available and if he were not sure he would choose United before the list of clubs, but of course I would have Alison too as our number 2, but he is hardly available either… whilst at it why don’t we just say any random name…. absolutely ridiculous.

As for Oblak, he's available because he's now unreliable fitness wise and he looks his age with hai huge frame.
