Mighty reds on the Liverpool page saying if the league ends now then Liverpool should not compete next year in protest, the village idiot is loose again.

Agree9 Disagree0

14 Mar 2020 08:25:22
I support his opinion. go play in another league
😂😂😂😂.

14 Mar 2020 08:39:07
Wait until someone says its all a conspiracy to stop them winning the league 😂.

14 Mar 2020 08:56:35
He accused me of getting personal and lack of class, after all the trolling and winding up he does on here. 😂😂🤦‍♂️.

14 Mar 2020 10:25:22
Maybe they should come to the reality that maybe the universe doesn't want Liverpool to win the league 😂. Last year they had the most points for a team to finish 2nd and this year the coronavirus looks set to end the season early 🤔😉😂.

It is what it is and health and safety of fans and players come first.

Truth is no one knows what will happen with the league, it may get null and void which will obviously hurt but your fans would be over the moon. It could quite easily be postponed and finished at a later date. There is so many permutations and which ever way it goes it won’t please everyone.

I think they need to look at it from a sportsmanship point of view, we have all As football fans (not just Liverpool and United), had our highs and lows during the season and for that to all mean nothing will be a tough pill to swallow.

Thing is their decision impacts millions, PL, EFL and even the lower league teams with gate receipts etc. So the decision makers are finally going to earn their money.

This is not just football it will effect, it’s going to have much wider consequences, I just hope we can all get back to normal ASAP all with a clean bill of health.

14 Mar 2020 11:03:18
I for one hope that the fantasy football league us declared null and void lol, been a terrible season.

14 Mar 2020 11:07:28
Couldn't agree more wyred, your 25 points at the top of the league I think even though it would be like a full scale apocalypse for united fans you deserve the trophy 🤔🙄👍.

14 Mar 2020 11:33:26
Liverpool deserve the title but if they are given it without actually winning it, presented behind closed doors it must be an anticlimax, winners but always tarnished. So, if at all possible in April, I half expect they will try and play games behind closed doors. It must be utterly devastating to be a Liverpool fan right now, not something to laugh about, many fans may have a dislike of each other, yet we should respect achievements. I will not gloat if the season is voided because I recall Anfield around 1992 with banners about never seeing United win the league, that was crass and so would laughing at Liverpool now. Many Liverpool fans will be decent, many may catch the virus, we have to deal with that and maybe Shankley was wrong, there are more important things.

14 Mar 2020 12:02:24
Idiots in all football clubs red man, they just don't represent us all.

If we are given it, all we will hear is you were gifted it and if its voided itll be you'll never win the league.

Personally I have just witnessed the best season we have ever had (pl wise) and likely to have but I don't get anything if we win it just gratification of witnessing it.

There are much wider effects like the people who work on match days that rely on the thousands of people to keep a roof over there head.

Personally I don't see the point in avoiding one season to start another but until the we are all just speculating.

Anyway wishing you boys a clean bill of health and hopefully we can get back to talking about trivial things like VAR!

14 Mar 2020 12:06:33
You'd actually get top 4 then Scooby dog 😉😅.

14 Mar 2020 12:16:19
Red Man; I feel terribly for the players and the manager. They deserve the trophy. Their intolerable fans who have spent the last five years laughing at our misfortunes though? I have little sympathy for them.

{Ed047's Note - you had intolerable fans doing the same thing before Fergie retired red. How you treat people on the way is often how you get treated on the way down mate.

14 Mar 2020 13:01:12
We still have intolerable fans now, Ed. Call it schadenfreud if you must, but I’m enjoying seeing the Liverpool fans going into meltdown just as much as they enjoyed seeing our club collapse in the post Ferguson era.

14 Mar 2020 13:04:53
It would mean another year of Europa for United just as your going on a charge as well.

14 Mar 2020 13:12:56
I'm finding my own fans intolerable right now red seven hence why I am posting here instead 😅.

14 Mar 2020 14:02:17
It's such an unprecedented scenario that all outcomes are going to be tarnished. If the league resumes in the summer, the integrity of the league is in question with contracts running down, players fitness questioned.

You often see games where there is a horrific injury and the play is stopped for a long period of time. When it resumes, it's never at the same intensity. There is always that eerie feeling in the stadium.

It's hard to be impartial when in comes to putting yourself in Liverpool's shoes. But would I as a fan want the league awarded to us without mathematically winning It? No.
Would I want the league awarded to us without finishing the entire league? No.

I certainly wouldn't be happy with the circumstances, but I would hope that the team and manger that many where hailing as the greatest Premier League team of all time, would dust them selves down and be ready to smash the league next year again. Putting no doubts that they are champions. No asterisk beside the win. Maybe I'm not qualified to answer that though because I havnt gone 30 years waiting for the trophy.

I do hope they can finish the league. If United aren't in the title race I don't particularly care who wins it. But I do think we have a great chance of top 4. Another year outside of the champions league may change our summer targets.

Who knows what will happen. In the meantime, stay safe and look after each other!

{Ed047's Note - there are no doubts for me and I’m not a Liverpool fan, they’ve laid waste to the league and are 100% deserved winners.

There is no need to tarnish or put an asterisk beside anything.

Had anyone, or more, been close, then a different story but they’ve literally been in a league of their own.

14 Mar 2020 15:09:05
Mumbles, from a football point of view we have been at a ridiculous level in the league, 25 clear albeit playing a game more then city.
Obviously I’d prefer the league to be finished but if it can’t and they awarded us the league I would not complain. This virus is completely out of our hands.
I can guarantee if you were romping clear you would also want the league to be confirmed as yours.
I see it like the lottery, first 6 balls are drawn but the machine breaks and a bonus ball can’t be drawn. And therefore it’s void. You can’t tell me if you are sat there with the 6 matching balls that you’d be happy for it to be voided?

14 Mar 2020 15:16:42
Give it a rest with the noble sportsmanship. Everyone in Manchester I've spoken with, whether red or blue, is taking great delight in the likelihood of Liverpool not winning the league, ESPECIALLY because they are so far ahead.

The only debate going on is whether we are enjoying it more than Gerrard's slip.

14 Mar 2020 15:16:59
The biggest buzz I get in football after a United win is when Liverpool lose, but they deserve the trophy this year however they get it.

14 Mar 2020 15:38:05
They're not 100% deserved winners though because it's not over. If no more football is kicked this campaign, I as a fan wouldn't want the league awarded to my team.

Wyred, come up with all the analogies you want. If I did do the lottery and that happened, I would expect to be paid out for 6 balls. I wouldn't expect the jackpot.

Go into a shop and try and pay 98% of the price. See what happens.

Tell your missus your 98% sure you love her, see what happens.

See if the ball in 98% over the line, is it goal?

Laid waste to the league this year indeed. Do it again next year.

14 Mar 2020 16:00:32
If we don't finish the season I don't see how you can have a winner .
Its harsh on liverpool but when you compare it people dying or businesses going bust and people losing jobs etc . Is it really that big a deal .
Each to there own but I honestly think there is more important things going on and if the league is cancelled then so be it.

14 Mar 2020 16:04:49
6 balls is the jackpot.

14 Mar 2020 16:34:30
Im not sure why when the virus isn't at peak here we couldn't have just played weekends n midweek to try get the season near as damn it done. But then i guess that's just selfishness of a fan to want to watch the game.
Anyone saying that you can't have a winner this year jesus christ. there's a clear winner and everyone can see it its not tarnished its well deserved.

14 Mar 2020 16:41:52
Tell your missus you're faithful 98% of the time and get back to me.

14 Mar 2020 17:56:42
Mumbles at what point have I said anything about 98% 😂, my view point is that if they want to quit the season and call us winners that’s their call. Would I complain if they did that? Not a chance! Is it the way I want us to win it? Of course it isn’t my preference would be to complete the league when possible and safe to do so.

I personally think if they cancel the season they are opening a can of worms. For a whole host of reasons, not just liverpool btw.

Truth is pretty much none of us know where it will go and it would be a gut punch if we didn’t win the league but whatever decision they make we all just have to live with it.
