They looked tired, yet the tactical answer was not to bring on like for like or a fast attacker to break, or a very fresh young midfield player with zero minutes in his legs, but to pack defence.
Terrible management, frankly.
When we needed to control midfield or hit on the break we sat back, far too deep, you could see it coming. We needed fresh legs yet never used Mainoo, not once.
Last night was on Tuchel.

Mental thing for me is it was literally signposted in prior games. Attack Argentina, they struggle and look vulnerable. Try to hold on to a lead and they will punish you. So naive. ?

It was negative beyond belief, Red Man.
I couldn't understand why they went so passive so early. Sometimes you need to sit in with 5 minds to go, but not with 30.
Its a shame they didn't press for a 2nd. I dont think Argentina are a great side at all, and if it weren't for Messi they'd have gone the same way as Brazil.
Ill be rooting for Spain, but wouldn't begrudge Messi a 2nd World Cup, so either way I'm happy. Attacking intent was rewarded and won the CL for past couple of seasons. Lets hope same goes for wonder in Sunday.
