I rarely predict scores but I feel we are ready to deliver a performance and give someone a shellacking, and I feel it may be today.

Lol. This OP aged well. ?

Wasn't the best performance and lucky to get the pen/red, but a win is a win and it puts us in 3rd. Should make top 4, barring a downturn in results.

We didn't play well, but we won. Being organised and working hard will get you a long way. If we can keep injury free, there is a good chance we can finish in a Champions League position.

It's a bit dull, but I'd take another 8 wins like that between now and the end of the season. Midfield and full backs were awful today. Front 4 were very hit and miss, but created chances.

Lucky? Certainly not, soft penalty, maybe, but correct decision.

I'll ask you this, Iwotb. If that's against you, would you call it the right decision? Cunha has bought one, but if we want them as pens, I suggest we jack it in and watch tiddlywinks. Football is a contact sport, and we need to start calling out players when they flop. MacAllister does it too, so this isn't me just accusing United players.

The problem is getting much worse, and if we start justifying decisions like that, we are just encouraging it. Alternatively, when a player tries to stay on their feet but is clearly fouled, refs need to call it that way or, again, we are encouraging players to throw themselves down.

Yes, if it was against us I'd be annoyed that my centre half had pulled their player over in the box. It was stupid and it was a penalty and a red card. Crazy to say otherwise.

I would accept the decision to be factually correct although I would think it somewhat soft. Yes, football is a contact sport, and I too do not like the ease with which some players go to ground, but it is not legal to pull someone's shirt. That is not part of the physicality of the game; it is a blatant attempt at cheating.

A fairly gentle tug can have the same effect in terms of destabilising a player as a violent pull. If you do not wish to concede a penalty, then do not carry out that particular transgression. If you can't do the time, don't commit the crime! I stand by saying it was the correct decision.

They didn't have many chances; we deserved the win, I think. They played well in the first half, but other than a loopy, deep header from a corner (where our defense was asleep), I think we controlled the game well. We desperately need more attacking FBs for these games.

They just need to be more prepared to cross the ball. Our best crosses come from Bruno, Casemiro, and Mainoo. Our FBs have the space in these tight games, and should be able to get better quality in for Sesko and co in the middle.

Apparently half the team yesterday were feeling unwell before kick off, so hopefully that's why such a poor performance, but at least we got 3 points and can move on. If only SJR had acted much, much sooner in getting rid of the dud that was RA.

See Martinez is on the very short list now!
