I understand the players return to training on Monday, the first pre-season friendly is against Leeds on 19 July in Stockholm, two weeks.
At the moment Cunha apart we have not done business at anywhere near the level we needed to. This summer was where the club should have given Amorim the players he wanted and needed in training. He said it was vital to have time with players pre season. It starts on Monday.
I felt the 1st July was a watershed, a point when the finances refreshed, yet the same stalemate remains. I am just starting to grow concerned the club are not being decisive. If MBueno is an important one and it's an extra £3m then be decisive. One player in and the four problems still there is not decisive. It is starting to feel a bit like other summers and it's now time to see movement.

I think you're right on inbounds Red Man, but we are reliant on others to ship people out, we see Newcastle offering big money for Elanga, whilst we have 4 wingers we can't shift. Hopefully, as some struggle to get their first choices, they may turn to Rashforrd, Sancho, Garnacho, or even Antony.

Lots of clubs would take those wingers mentioned. But there are only a couple of non Saudi clubs who pay the kind of stupid wages we’ve given those players.
If they were all on £75k a week, I’d imagine those players would have already left.
I believe all football contracts should be capped at a maximum of something like £80k a week, with them topped up by bonus payments, I. e. make the squad, make the team, play a game, score or assist etc. If a player wants £300k a week, then they better perform to get it. Never happen though.

You can decisively do nothing RedMan.
05 Jul 2025 09:26:41
Redman players need to be sold before we buy.
Rashford not an easy sell
Sancho not an easy sell
Malacia not an easy sell
Casimero not an easy sell
Garnacho not an easy sell at the price we want and need.
Rasmus not an easy sell
Onana a very hard sale.
We can't even pay them off or give them away. We need to comply with psr and competion rules.
Im surprised at your lack of understanding for the situation I expect that from other posters. We are hamstrung and these outs are difficult to navigate.
Even if we sign mbeumo without shifting 1 or 2 of the above and then can't we are in the world of trouble.
I believe there are a couple of ins lined up for when we shift our misfits like rashford sancho garnacho etc.
No point stamping feet without having a strong understanding of v the situation.
The here and now fans are getting rattled i expect more from the more mature and educated fan.
Understanding the why is fundamental before slamming any situation. Not everybody has the ability and knowledge to understand the why but I believe you do which is why I'm surprised by your post.
We can't buy before we sell or we really could end up in a world of trouble.

Ken is that one of the most condescending post you have written to RedMan or what!
05 Jul 2025 17:56:27
Not condescending at all. Redman is not backwards in coming forward with his opinions but usually takes all the circumstances into account and usually doesn't post on his emotions. I don't think he has been as condors in this past and it surprised me.
I think we are all a little frustrated by delays to out going g sales.
The players we want to move on hold most of the cards as to perspective buyers. We can't just take huge hits and buy at the same time. Its a really tricky balancing act and i'd imagine its very difficult for those trying to maximise what we can do o ins and outs.

Hi Ken
Yes I am very financially astute and understand the impact of regulations. We have got ourselves into a mess and I am delighted with RA for taking what appears to be decisive action.
My point is that training starts tomorrow and little has changed. No there are no easy sales but it depends whether the club are holding out for unrealistic amounts.
I have concerns that RA will struggle with what we have and won’t get leeway for the late arrival of any reinforcements.
06 Jul 2025 10:06:04
Its not ideal and i take that point redmanand agree with it but and its a huge but, its not that simple.
Clubs have made no offers for anybody yet.
Rash at 40m is not excessive imo
Malacia no offers we would take anything i'd imagine
Onana who would buy him at any price and he didn't want to leave.
Casimero a bit like above unless he fancies Saudi
Rasmus likewise
Sancho is 20m too much?
Garna nobody made an offer of any description.
We are asking what we need to to break even as we can't take his or it will cause us issues with psr.
Its a chicken and egg situation not easy.
Let's hope they can get a bit done this week.
We can force players to move and we can't afford to take hits.
Bit of a conundrum.

Agree Ken
Horrendous mess. Malacia was bought when we had Alvaro who could potentially be worth £50m, Antony when Elanga is now being valued at £55m. I took stick on here for saying Casemiro was the wrong choice, and said we should have gone for Ousman Dembele instead of Sancho again to be dismissed.
Surprised at Garnacho but if club ask £70m it’s not helpful
RA must be given time in what has been an utter shambles. He wanted preseason to get his ideas into the players, starts tomorrow.
