Rasmus Hojlund (€73.9m) . Mason Mount (€64.2m) . Andre Onana (€50.2m) .
I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but has a club ever had a worse summer transfer window than ours in the 23/ 24 season? For those who forgot, this was the same window when Raya (€31.9m), Rice (€116.6m), and Kane (€95m) were available.

Kane was not available. No way levy would have sold kane to us, utter rubbish.

Right, Dodgy, because there aren’t numerous instances where Spurs have sold players to domestic rivals since Levy became their CEO.
Five of their ten most expensive departures have been to other EPL clubs, including Berbatov and Carrick to us. Assuming Kane could have been persuaded to join us, we could absolutely have signed him, for the right price. Sure, we would have probably ended up paying £5-10m more than Bayern did, but to say that Levy would never sell to us is utter rubbish.

I would not say it’s utter rubbish that Levy would not sell to us, he would have little choice if the offer was right and more importantly Kane wanted to come to us…. he did not want to sell us Berbatov but did!
So to say utter rubbish is not reality just your opinion.

Kane came with a £21m a year salary, which is pretty much what the other 3 make combined. If we'd bought Kane the total cost would have been £40m a year compared to £17m for Hojlund. We may have bought badly but we simply couldn't afford Kane, and even if we had him it's questionable whether we could have got that much out of him given the inadequacy of the team around him. That said it was indeed a terrible window and a competent organization would have done a whole lot better for the money laid out.

Kane would certainly have got 2 goals in 25 rather than the 1 Rasmus got, so worth double the money!
It’s utterly ridiculous saying lack of service is the root cause of Rasmus being an awful striker, yes it contributes but, proper strikers adapt and find a way, Rasmus always delayed reaction, there have been enough chances for him to have at least hit double figures, he is just not good enough. ebd of.

German, Rasmus has had 15 shots in the EPL this season, every player with 10 or more goals have had 52 or more shots.
For him to have 10 league goals this season he'd need to have a 66% shot conversion. For comparison Salah who has 27 league goals has a shot conversion rate of 29%.
Is Rasmus a great striker? Currently no, but he definitely has potential. The problem is that he is a Micheal Owen type striker, a player who wants to play off the shoulder of the last man in a counter attacking team. Yet he's being asked to be more like a Didier Drogba type striker who'll hold up the ball, bring others into play and still run off the shoulder.
He's just not suited to how we play under Amorim.

If Rasmus had 5 shots and scored 5 goals is a season at 100% conversion rate……. would you rather have him or Salah at 29%?
I know who I would rather have.
Conversion rate, whilst impressive, is yet another stat that means nothing out of context.

I don't see anything but an ok young player way out of his depth.
13 Apr 2025 15:11:48
Im not seeing this potential in Hoijlund been an awful signing was gash even in his purple patch he's been an empty jersey since he got here some people just see what they want to see.

He was not exactly on fire under TEN HAAG apart from against minnows in Europe, those stats are just not worth bothering with, forget goals he never wins a header, he is useless at holding ball up he never wins a strength test and he brings no one into play….
Comparing him with Owen is another useless stat, Owen was banging goals in at 17…. And if he never got ball he would make a goal for himself. Or at least make a run in right direction at right time….
Rasmus and a 17 yr old Owen should not be aired in same breath
Rasmus not exactly young anymore either.
Let’s face it he is not good enough and never will be.

Shappy mate he can’t even play off the shoulder…
Good strikers make chances for themselves, his movement is poor and his runs and abysmal, and as for hos hold up play, he can’t even progress the ball when he has it, his link up play is even worse
And good players can play in any system, the reality is he is crap and yet another produce of a poor scouting network.
