I was fully expecting the quest for a new manager to take weeks. I have to say well done to the INEOS team for being very un-United like and getting it done so swiftly. (By the looks of things) . But beware - it's the hope that kills you.

It feels different doesn't it. This is what we brought this management team in for, to be decisive and to be the best.

No excuses for any players now. He is their guy and he has to be backed above the players. I want him to play his own brand of football without compromise. The players should meet his standard or move on.

Everyone gets a new chance, but no compromising on standards and no favourites. let's go!

Ineos have been great for the club and people who are criticizing them are just noise. They are doing all the right things.

They are now they didn't in the summer. They should have stuck to their instincts and fired eth like they had agreed to do. I wouldn't be critical of them they are walking through a minefield.

It has taken weeks, just all up until the sacking not after.

29 Oct 2024 17:13:55
You wouldn’t be critical of them Ken but you’ve literally criticised them in the same post ?.

The worst thing after sacking ETH would have been to leave a vacuum and let the speculation run riot.

Seems they recognised this and want it sorted by the weekend, can't complain at that.

Ineos has nothing to do with it. It's Berrada, Ashworth and the team who have been hired by the Man Utd board to do a job. Ratcliffe is one of the people on that Board.

I think 'Ineos' is being used interchangeably here. Don't think anyone is suggesting the designers of the Grenadier or wet wipe manufacturers to be making these decisions.

Ports, on the contrary.
They will make many mistakes some big some small over the next 18 months.
Really difficult decisions and calls to make in every aspect of the club.
Personally I have a high tolerance for mistakes within the next 18 months. So, acknowledging that they have made mistakes but not being critical or over critical of those mistakes is normal.
They have realised themselves they made a mistake (or realised their gamble had backfired) and are working to rectify it.
So yes it's clear to see the mistake they made and I can understand why they made it so wouldn't be critical of it and I applaud them for being quick and decisive 2nd time around when they had all the relevant people in place to make judgement.
Some signing won't work out but that's OK. Some P. R faux pas will be made but I won't criticise them for the mistakes but I will identity what I think are mistakes imo.

Making mistakes is inevitable, but letting them drag on is not. I was with them in giving ETH an opportunity to establish himself, and I'm with them in recognizing that he's failed and that his position had become untenable.

Agreed shaw. Trust the guys at the top to see it through. They've been in the door all but 5 minutes.
