Best chance they've had to win the league in years and they've all but bottled it ???

There's me thinking being out of the europa would let them focus on the title.

{Ed077's Note - should I have rather put this up on the discussions page??}

They were never winning it
City by far a better team and the best squad in the league by a mile
More overhyped nonsense from the media
I don’t rate this Arsenal team one bit and in years gone by would be nowhere near
There only up there because everyone else is pony.

Completely agree Blackpool. Wouldn't have been top with city and Liverpool firing on all cylinders.
Odegaard and saka are great but not the world class squad they've been lauding.

I never revel in city winning a league but the pure arrogance that has came out of every arsenal fans mouth all season has made me really want them not to win it.

Claiming they'd won the league at Christmas ? seems both teams in North London are bottlers.

Don't see them in and around it next season.

I've always had a strong dislike for Arsenal probably born out of them being our closest rivals when I was a kid. That said given how City have got to where they are I'd reluctantly prefer Arsenal to win the league. Although given the choices it's very much like preferring to have my left hand removed rather than my right hand.

Maybe they have/ are/ will bottle the title this season, but to be where they are is very impressive none the less. I totally agree that the league this season hasn't seen either City or Liverpool at their best like over the past few years. The winner this year will likely have less than 90 point, compared to recent winners scoring 100, 99 and 98 points. However, I think those years were the exception rather than a new normal. Two top sides absolutely pushing eachother to their absolute maximum while also getting the rub of the green in terms of key decisions, injuries and more than a shade of luck at times.

This current Arsenal side is the youngest squad in the EPL, players like Saka (21), Martinelli (21), Saliba (22), Odegaard (24) and Ramsdale (24) are all 3-5 years away from being at their peaks. While most of their defence are between the ages of 24-26.

I think there's more to come from this Arsenal side over the next few years and if they can continue to bring in the right players they can become a real force over the next few years.

As whiskey said, its the arrogance coming out of Arsenal fans that has me favouring City over them. That said, i will always favor city to win it ahead of Arsenal, pool or Chelsea as i think they have the best players and manager. Arsenal on one side are a treat to watch when on song but i have always felt that they have a soft belly and seem to struggle under pressure or when roughed up. They are not the same team of Viera, bergkamp and henry.

If however they go on to win it then fair play. Whoever wins the league has obviously deserved it over the course of the season even if the top rivals have underperformed. You have taken advantage.

All but bottled it? They are 4 points clear ? surely everyone would rather Arsenal won the league if it meant City not winning the treble.

Gigs, city have a game in hand and they play each other soon. I'd say that's pretty much bottled it considering how far infront they were. City will win it, I'm sure of that.

Always going to be tough for a London club to win the premier league regardless, they have a lot more local derbies than anyone else always ready to take chunks out of each other.

Agree with Shappy one minute I prefer Arsenal then it’s City the only thing is I don’t want City winning a treble or 3 in a row but cannot stand these arrogant Arsenal fans never have

We can’t win either way.

Arsenal. Every time. Proper club. Bit of class about them. Great rivalry in the 90s/ 00s.

And they're not City.

Especially a City going for the treble.

Agree with Noucamp, would much prefer Arsenal to win it. A change from City and help stop them doing the treble! I like the way Arsenal have done it too by sticking with the manager and allowing him to get rid of a few older players.
