Ineos are having legal action taken against them for failing to fulfil a contract with New Zealand Rugby team.
Their comments about costcutting are quite concerning, and don't bode well for the longer term future of the company. It will be interesting to see if this has a knock on affect to any investment into United.
Feels very much like they purchased a stake in a football club they can't afford to run.

Kurtis,
They very much can afford to run the club.

Just my opinion but if a club needs the constant pumping in of money from its owners to survive, the the club doesn't deserve to stay afloat. You lot will do alright though since your revenue is huge so whatever happened to Ineos shouldn't affect you. It's the constant leeching by the Glazers that's really holding you all back.

I would not take too much interest in Ineos looking to remove themselves from the deal with New Zealand rugby and what they are doing with us. I may be wrong but there is a lot going on with the various branches of Ineos ensuring that they are investing in the right areas and getting rid of group companies that are no longer turning a profit.
The ultimate aim must be that we do not need investment from our owners, to do this lots need to change including the debt. However, I would not be surprised if this gets wrapped up in the stadium funding that the club deems servicable. Along with being run more efficiently with better player contracts we should be okay. We generate a lot as a club, unfortunately we have still not lived to those mean due to a number of factors.

SJR cutting more jobs at Utd, not at all surprised by this.
Since he has had control of the club, a lot of the press releases coming out of OT have had a very strong sense of; we are in debt, we simply must get our finances in order, we can't afford to carry on like this etc.
I feel this is meant to send out the message, we will not have our pants pulled down, over and over again, re transfer's and player contracts.
SJR said as much, that we have to reposition ourselves in terms of transfers and contracts and it will take time.

Absolutely. There is nothing worse than an inefficient business model carrying excess overhead.
Keep the cuts coming throughout the business and in time we will see the benefits to the core business proposition which is football. I've no time for needed overheads and costs. Perhaps those left will have to work a bit harder but I'm quite sure there is plenty of headroom for that.

Come on, it's not just Rugby, is it?
INEOS are quite clearly strategically phasing away involvement with sports that bring in the least return - the America's Cup split being an arguably even worse example of the INEOS approach.
The reason is blatantly obvious - SJR now has his fat grubbies in a pie that brings a far better return than the awkward sponsorship of the All Blacks and the costly America's Cup partnership combined, so he's simply turning flotsam into jetsam.
Next up, imo, will be INEOS Grenadiers and all the more charitable obligations, leaving just the money machines of football and F1.
{Ed001's Note - I think you are right, though you are mistaken on the America's Cup thing, as INEOS have signalled an intention to participate, just not with the same partners. It was obviously a bit expensive to keep a 'star' name. The rat only does things on the cheap.}

Other clubs have owners that want to put money into their clubs. We have leaches that want to take as much money for themselves as possible.
The debt interest is a problem, but no one cares, the glazers making billions of something they took for free. Scumbags.

They backed the guy for Americas cup with a lot of money and he failed for a second time. Its normal stuff and they have withdrawn their backing. Was with a friend of mine yesterday who have the alpine formula one team and they are dumping one of their drivers for another happens all the time in sports.

I'm dreading if jim takes over the club fully. Players will probably have to bring their own pack lunch in and take their kit home to wash so we can save wages by not having a kit man and to save on the lecky.
