Reports coming out Iraola is a serious contender for the role, would be delighted if he joins.

Very impressive coach. Obviously, the questions will surround as to whether he can build a title-winning squad, but he has to be top of the second tier of managers being considered - a tier in which I see Carrick also, fwiw.

If Arri K is in the same bracket as Iraola, then I'd rather see Carrick stay, and that is after feeling like we were okay with Ole and then it turning to dogs***.
Better the devil...

Makes sense in a lot of ways. Decent age and has plenty of experience, Premier League-proven, available right away, no compensation needed as he's out of contract, plays an attractive style of football, and he has an excellent demeanour and way with the media. Different animal at United, I know, but he's definitely an excellent option.

A lot would depend on how much authority he could impose on the dressing room, and could he do what Amorim could not... get the players to buy into his way of playing.
