My observation of Arsenal over the last 10 days alone:
1. They are mentality monsters.
2. They have a great manager who instils a hate for losing not just a match but a dual a header or a tackle losing anything is not acceptable.
3. Arteta is as hated by opposing fans as fergie was. That's good for Arsenal.
4. They have good players. But they have full backs who can't cross too and no decent goal scoring cf.
5. I loved artetas reaction and quotes to young dowmans sending off.
6. Arteta was given time and shown patience by Arsenal board who ignored the fickle know all fans.
7. There are a lot of good candidates do to this job at united we need a board to show faith in the next man ignore our over emotional supporters and don't expect a 5 year job to be done in 2 years.
8. Arsenal are not boring they are a great team to watch really well organised motivated and drilled yes there is a lack of flair but i can appreciate lots of other great things to watch.
Man for man technically a lot of our players are as good as theirs in lots of respects, they are just not organised. What i mean by that is if you put dalot in rb instead of white Dalot would do well or Shaw instead of Hincipie or Baleba for lewis skelly.
Reminds me of that Morcombe and wise sketch. You have all the right notes your just playing them in all the wrong order.
Whomever they get in needs to be allowed time to get it right with zero redline expectations other than relegation for 2 years while he moulds his squad. They need to ignore the fans that get over emotional like the Arsenal board did with Arteta like the United board did with Fergie. Open heart surgery needs doing and it takes time but i don't think a lot of our fans have the stomach for it.
They get teased in work they get 'embarrassed', so they call for managers to be sacked they accuse the players of being fickle and not having the stomach for the fight but a lot of fans don't have the stomach for the fight.
The club will be here long after Bruno long after Carrick long after Wilcox and long after the Glazers.
Yes it's a tough time but I'm happy to stick my chest out and say this is my club the one i support through thick and thin. I'm not embarrassed I'm not happy but I'm not embarrassed. We will get it right again and if we don't before i pop my clogs, ill die believing we will.

Arteta learnt leadership from Pep, in organization, in training methods, expectations, dark arts, lack of toleration for failure to apply 100% effort at all times. Who has Carrick learnt from? Who at United has similar experience of what it means to strive to be the best? Who at United would recognize a player who has what it takes to get to and be at the top. How many players have received the type of coaching particular to a top team?
Had they been inculcated with the right footballing ethos over the years, maybe some of them could slot into a top team but I'm not convinced about the majority of them. There's a reason why none are actually at one and why most of them are not worth much in the transfer market. I do agree however that properly trained and organized this team should be doing better.

You have to find the right one. We need to develop the stomach for the long haul.
I think amorim was that guy. But the change in formations was just too much, which made him inconpatable. Playing bruno in a 2 man midfield was not working, he needed to be braver and sell bruno and get the right 8s and the right wingbacks.
Ten hag could have been a success, but he did get longer and it didn't work. The players he brought in were obviously poor. Anthony alone I think is what did for any belief in him.
I think the manager need to be a dissaplinarian, it needs to be clear that he rules the roost. I honestly only think that will come about from major change. Look at Arteta, all his supposed stars were sold and new players, team players, brought in. I don't believe a manager can come in and be a big success without removing the core of the team that came before.
So the plan would be a strong manager who is tactically similar to how United want to play. Trusts in youth, modern ideas. Is absolutely in charge and expects players to meet his standards or they don't play. No matter what. No interference from above. We should be ball dominant, but not tiki taka, mixing quick offense with game control. Crosses and threaded through balls. I would say the old team needs to be dismantled. So, bruno, McGuire, Martinez, shaw, rashford, dalot all gone in quick succession. So that probably means playing heaven and yoro with 2 new fullbacks. Maybe 433 would work, given more midfield protection to the back 4 and giving good width. Cunha, mainoo and a defensive monster (baleba? ) In a midfield 3. Lacy, sesko, mbuemo in front 3 - but missing that killer 9 to lead the attack. Desperate need for 2 real fullbacks and depth all over the pitch. But with that squad makeup, plus careful additions, I think a manager would gain control of the toxicity in the dressing room. w would be a young team learning on the job and hopefully the fans would have some patience.
It honestly can't be worse than what we have.

1. Wenger walked out the door when he finished unlike Fergie who hung around and stuck his oar into decisions like his replacement, like Ole coming in, like Ronaldo coming back. That has been a major difference.
2. Arsenal are on a much sounder financial footing than us, and have modern stadium etc. This makes it a much better environment for a manager to work in.
3. Arsenal don't have a Big Sir Jim, who's ego will mean he is constantly interfering instead of letting those appointed to roles in charge of club to do their jobs.

So based on that do we just keep Carrick and let him turn things around?
03 Nov 2026 11:59:33
No Eric imo that ship has sailed.
I think he lacks experience and know how as do his coaching team.
03 Nov 2026 13:05:30
He is not demonstrating that he is in charge.
Maybe removing all the senior players would help him with that, but it is a huge risk when I ddint feel he has shown enough to diserve that backing. Maybe if he played a few more younger players and showed that he was improving them. Amad, cunha both look worse under carrick for example.

Imagine if Arsenal had a top striker.
03 Nov 2026 14:28:05
Who says that would make them better ajh. It might ruin the team dynamic. Same as we might be better without bruno.
A team is always built as a sum of its parts not on individuality.

Are you really saying that some of our players can get in the Arsenal team, would you mind sharing who that would be please, I am very intrigued.

Of course, that's not what i said.
