I just saw carricks interview after I turned off before the end v Fulham. He needs firing and right now.
To say they were not passive was the last straw for me. I am never one for constant change, but I feared thst Washford would be the lowest common denominator with his lazy and lax tracking back, energy amd running and tgats exactly what's going on right now. He is contaminating the team with the vibes and energy which is lack of energy and failing to gmflog himself to death. that's now spreading like ebola qcross the whole team.
Its totally unacceptable in every way. Get out and get a manager in who will communicate from the bench not stand there like a wally without a brolly.

I thought it was a very telling interview.
The performance was undeniably passive. When Fulham had the ball, the United players set up in three straight lines across the pitch and behind the ball. There was zero pressing. For the entire game, all we did was pack bodies behind the ball and wait for them to make a mistake.
Carrick's comments felt like a defence of his tactics, rather than the players. For me, it was obvious that the players had been told to do this. You could see that their immediate focus out of possession was to get into a rigid defensive shape. They did this over and over again. It wasn't an accident, or solely down to lack of effort. It was Carrick's response to the Brighton capitulation.

What turned me off ole the most was the nonsense he talked the gormless expessions and the fact that he looked a shadow of himself.
I'm firmly of the opinion that stadards dropped the most under his tenure and we've not recovered since I've said many times that until we sell every player here under him then we won't recover fully.
Dalot shaw maguire rashford and bruno are the surviving members of that exclusive club.
4 of then make up our snr players leadership group.
I saw a downwards shift in so many standards under ole and its lingered ever since imo.
A lethargy a lack of effort and hard running. Passive and easy to play against. Players egos not matching their results.
I was a firm advocate of rashford not staying. I said that carrick would need to own the impact it could have and it maybe the sword he falls on.
He wouldn't leave so carricks hands were tied to an extent but he needs to evaluate if he should be in the team or squad everyweek.
I think he is very consevative as a coach and manager.
He needs to improve and we need to see that improvement on the pitch through his players.

I have figured it out! Carrick plan that is.
He cannot beat the low block teams so he counters it by playing the low block.
That is what we witnessed. Two low blocks just trying not to lose. If Martinez had not scored the OG, I dare say it would likely have ended 0-0, potentially a 1-0 to us.
What I found astounding was that apparently a record was set in the first half for total number of shots in one half.
