Wow, Rip Franco Baresi, best central defender I have ever seen in my lifetime. What a player.
Was part of imo the best club side I've seen in my lifetime, AC Milan of the late 80's, early 90's.
I even had the Mediolanum sponsored shirt before it was pinched by a tea leaf on holiday many years ago.

Part of that era of unbelievable Italian defenders, Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta etc. Brilliant player and a big loss.

The golden age of Italian football for sure. Names that just roll off the tongue. Yet, according to some on social media, all the greatest players to ever play the game are playing it now. Baresi had it all and just looked so calm and composed, absolute world class, and his medals prove it.
