Congratulations to Carrick and his team and the squad. We are back where we belong, and long may it remain a staple if our fixture list.
Now is the time for the club to be decisive. Back the club in the market. Get the players we as fans can see that we need.
As I mentioned in a previous post, seeing us switch to 343 was great to see, and watching us close out that game even after two brain farts from Amad and Lammens was great to see.
Time for the club to be decisive. Announce the manager if it is Carrick. If it is someone else and we are bound by agreements not to derail their current club, it is understandable.
But if the proposed manager is either Carrick or someone who will be without a club in a few weeks, make the announcement.
This is a massive summer for the club. The goal for us is to again secure UCL next season, that is goal number 1.
Thereafter, yes a cup run or trophy would be great for morale. A deep run in UCL would be great, a title challenge would be great. But let's walk before we can run.

Agreed fully, Jimbo. I hope we can challenge, but, realistically, solidifying our position and a good cup run would be significant progress.

Just a note on Amad. I think it was the last game v Brentford where he made the tackle that sent Bruno on his way to play in Sesko for our 2nd goal. It was also Amad at the far post today who headed the ball back into the area, ultimately leading to Kobbie's winner. He's undoubtedly going through a crisis of confidence in many aspects of his game, but he always puts in a shift, and hopefully he will rediscover his form.
That said, I've been questioning whether, even if he does get back to where he was during parts of last season, he's ultimately really good enough for a team intending to win major trophies. Replacing him is probably not a priority this summer when we need to build out the squad, but my guess is he's only got next year to prove himself.

By the way, Amad is completely shot of confidence. Just look at the way Carrick was with him coming on.
I feel for him because he is much better than he is currently showing.

Form comes and goes. He is also not getting a consistent run to gain any rhythm. If rhythm is fit, he is not 1st choice. That will change next season, where there are lots more games to go around, so instead of a 1st 11, it will be more like a 1st 16 -18 that will start most games.
There will be 55 starts on rw next season, so id like to think we will see more from him next season.

Also, agree with you, Ken. He deserves one more season to prove he can occupy a spot in the overall squad long term. Definitely shot of confidence, and he immediately knew and busted a guy to rectify, which aligns with what Newname is saying.
We all know there is a player in there. I hope he gets through this, but, unfortunately, there is no time for emotions in football.
On another note, Mbeumo was proper upset about coming off today, something to watch out for longer term; his form is also not good. But we touched on both of those as a byproduct of the way we now play, compared to how we setup previously.
Another reason why the summer transfer is important: no point fixing an area if it creates a problem area elsewhere on fresh transfers of last year.....

Jesus, Amad has been great for us, but is having a bad spell. He needs love and support to return him to his best form. Talking of last chances seems a tad dramatic.

I don't think people are being overdramatic with Amad. He is not the level required for a team that wants to win things. Remember many wanted him as RWB! He gives 100%, and that's great, but that doesn't mean he has the quality that's needed. Too long, we have got hung up on players.
