I know we have had lots of discussions over the next manager, whether Carrick should stay or bring in someone new; however, maybe we should just accept that Bruno is the de facto manager who makes all the decisions at this club, both on and off field, so let’s stop messing around and install him as the player/coach.

90s are back in fashion. Why not? Gullit and Vialli did better as player-coaches than full-time managers.
If we're talking hypothetically, and considering the way football has changed, it could be a genuine innovation.
The Director of Football signs the players and sets the play style.
Coaches coach, and perhaps the captain could work more like cricket, making on-field tactical, reactionary changes.

Kenny Dalglish was very successful as a player coach.
I don't see that set up happening in football Ur.
In general, I prefer the players play, coaches coach, and managers manage approach.
