The decision to let Amorim go is going to bite the club in the backside.

He kept that squad galvanised and overachieved with what he had available.

The club wanted Bruno gone in the summer, but Amorim convinced him to stay. Sure Bruno is a professional, but his agent will already be finding him a route out of this nightmare.

The club handed Amorim Lammens, even though he wanted Martinez, Amorim adapted, took Lammens onboard and got him playing like a confident keeper should. Amorim has gone now and Lammens is looking as confident as a spawn of onana and taibi. Let's hope he regains his confidence as that is key in keepers.

Say what you want about the manager, squad, formation or board, we were clearing out the dross, limiting the salaries, changing the whole approach of the club to be more sustainable longer term. We had a young manager who understood the task, but was woefully let down by the board.

We are rotten to the core. When rot kicks in you have to remove it all, let it dry and then build it back up again to create the finished article.
I said in another post we won't win anything with about 14 of the current squad in place, that is also true of the owners/board. If this rot isn't stopped soon, the whole house may come tumbling down.

I never want bad for the club I have supported since a boy, but at the same time, I would not be upset if we fell off a cliff into the lower league for a period. We don't have a right to play in Europe, our squad is barely premier league quality anymore.

I live overseas and have to wake at ridiculous hours to watch the games, unfortunately with the impending appointment of Ole, I'll resign myself to the occasional look at highlights (doubt they will be very long) and maybe even just a look at sofascore to see what the result was if the highlights are that bad.

Agree7 Disagree0

All well qnd good saying you wouldn't mind us being in the lower leagues but what if we don't come back up.

We were 3 points off top 4 when he got the boot.

What did people actually expect this season?

Are we better than the teams above us? NO

there was progression regardless of recent results and we had 6/7 first team players missing for the last 5 games

Club is gone ridiculous decision

Why Wilcox hasn’t gone aswell is more baffling if there was tension between them both

Either back Amorim or sack him but Wilcox should have followed.

For billionaires the owners are collectively incapable of blocking internal noise or empathising with a seriously angry employee who has clearly been sidelined by the Head of Football and the CEO after a promise of more reinforcements in the winter window.

It's all well and good planning where you strongly believe that you should wait for the right player and balance the books, but don't be fooled by this narrative in isolation.

Amorim didn't want sesko apparently nor did he fancy dorgu or lammens, yet still tried to get the best out of them. He was a huge Ugarte fan and yet didn't play him equally as he didn't Mainoo so that speaks volumes in him prioritising competence over relationships or past, so another plus in his favour, he was an emotional stubborn passionate guy who was trustworthy but also raw and made some stupid calls that were frustrating to all of us, but he was showing he was learning to be more flexible and that would have continued.

The idea that you can't comply with PSR was cobblers. 3 ways to do that easily.

1. Diverse assets such as training ground women's team or even the stadium or hospitality function and sell them to yourself in a separate business
2. Take out a separate credit facility where you buy now but also sell assets in the summer of players to pay off the facility
3. Change your accounting period, allowable every 3 years for upto 9 months leeway.

So it's more than doable and we could have at least taken a player even on loan just to refresh even a little or give another option.

The rumour is that Amorim lost his rubbish when Wklcox strayed over the line into coaching and team formations (I think the strong hint was we are going to buy players who don't fit your system because we believe we are smarter than you, despite him previously being told that he would have a say in recruitment yet he didn't get players he wanted, Mbuemo has been great but Semenyo was Amorims choice and the only player all agreed on was Cunha.

Now imagine Wilcox, a failed coach is now telling you he thinks he knows better. Or Berrada? Would you take management advice from Roy Keane, Gary Neville? Because its the same thing.

So the very job he was told was entirely his domain is then removed and people expected what? Acquiescence.

I've been around the block. This decision was taken at Christmas or after the wolves match to get rid. They lit a fuse deliberately on a firework knowing he would explode and complain openly and then use it as a needle to move the dial towards Amorims acting up.

Utter rubbishhouses the lot of them. They just killed off the best manager we had since Fergie and to everyone's detriment.

The performances were I. oroving, we were stupid to have too many key players going to ACON, exactly what Amorim told Wilcox and Berrada he preferred Semenyo, and look what happened.

Fletcher is proving that we were exactly where everyone agreed we would be at this point, improving but nowhere near a finished squad and frankly overachieving given the rubbish in midfield and wing back options and lack of quality in upfront rotation and yet we fire him.

I absolutely want the debt gone and an owner who doesn't put money or financial governance above buying every position the right two players, being happy to be wrong take a loss and replace them next window, u til the prices fall I to place

I am so sick of being a rich person's vanity project, ego boosting favourite toy or cash cow hiding behind BS business excuses any economist would fix in 5 seconds. Wazzocks.

A mate was telling me last month about how he place an $80m loan facility for an African country that's technically bankrupt and defaulted on 5 loans already in the last 3 years. Don't let these bloody liars baffle you with BS.

Spot on Jimbo and Bolger. We were making progress and now we have absolutely self imploded thanks to our idiot owners and leadership.

12 Jan 2026 13:33:23
CO i think you can add idiot fans to that group.
The problem with social media and the likes now is it gives every idiot a platform to voice their uneducated opinions and as a result hyperbole takes over.
Its the sort of thing that got trump elected and brexit through.

Uneducated people creating hugely false narratives and due to hyperbole some following along like sheep.
Of course some opppsing opinions do come from a good place and background and are well founded but not the hyperbolic ones.
