There's a lot of fickle fans on here. one quick scan after the game and we are back to Amorim not being the man for the job. It's ok to not use the emotion of the last game to decide whether the manager is or isn't the right one.

There is a much bigger picture in play. We currently have half of the first team squad unavailable. We had/have a rotten core in the playing squad which is largely being repaired. It has been states on multiple occasions that we are in a process and shouldn't expect an overnight fix. We don't have a central midfield currently - that will be rectified in the next two transfer windows ready for next season.

If I was offered joint 5th at the half way point of the season I would have taken it.

Tonight's result and performance were really not good, but we've got the take the rough with the smooth. In my opinion we are making progress and there are major changes underway.

My point here is that we all need to stop using the latest emotion of the last result to decide our feeling on the team, and more importantly the manager.

No doubt in my mind the manager and the team above him are the right choices and in it for the longer haul.

The team however is who should be held accountable to what is served up. For years we have been weak and that showed again last night.
Players being out of position did not help, but they should still turn up and we shouldn't need to go 4 at the back against Wolves, not ever.

He absolutely is not the man for the job. I wish he was but this is not the guy. I don't see enough improvement from when he started. He over complicates the game so much that it takes away from players performance. He will require a starting 11 of superstars to play the way he wants. I know we are missing players but my opinion is not based off the wolves result, because the main reason he is not our guy is because what I am watching on the pitch is nothing like watching Man Utd.

It's risk averse, slow play no attacking wingers, and last centre forwards. I am not in favour of always changing managers but this is not our guy.

Amorim hasn’t shown anything over the last 12 months to say he’s the best person for the job.

- Worst EPL finish
- Lost Europa (changed selection, lost game) .
- Worse Utd Manager statistically for around 40 years.
- Signings, non doing as well at Utd vs previous club.
- Sold Players now performing well.

Older fans know say this Dave Sexton era management.

But we can’t fire him.
It will affect January and Summer business.
No obvious options to replace him.
Elite Managers want change at Summer not mid season.
Post World Cup, Tuchel, Poch, Ancelloti, Nagglesman could be options.

Time to emotionally disengage is better advice.

JD I hear what you are saying and you are right to some degree. It's the big picture, we need to keep looking at that.
But he isn't helping himself with performances and set ups like that.

We were truly awful. I've always defended him but last night was a bit of a turning point for me, there are no excuses for that.
Hope it's a kick up the arse for all involved.

I do agree with some of the points above. A case of rock and a hard place. There's the old logic that the table doesn't lie. Besides Villa I don't think any of us would have argued that the teams above us would deserve to be come the end of the season.

It is very much one step forward and one step back but I do personally believe we are on the right path with Amorim.
