Lets not get anything mixed up, he has been an absolute disaster and that's a fact. Took charge of 29 PL games and we've got 28 points.
Id personally give him a handful more games, if not, get rid. How much further down do you want him to take us.
He quite literally could not have done any worse since he became coach.
The football is crap and the system, well I just laugh at it. Shoehorning Bruno in is a good way to get the sack; his mad crazy decision not to play Mainoo is staggering; he's an unbelievable footballer who should be starting every week.
We needed a goal yesterday since the captain got put off by the ref; and he put on 2 CB'S, Ugarte and Dalot who are truly dreadful and Sesko, who received 0 crosses.
I cannot for the life of me seem to understand the concept of blindly backing coaches the way we do, when he's evidently so bad. Honestly give him 3/ 4 more games and if it continues get rid. let's not leave it too late to the point the season is beyond saving.

The results have been terrible, and there are big questions over the system. But the club has just forked out close to £200m on players to fit this system.
This has been the consistent failure of the club for over a decade. They bring in a new manager, give them money to bring in players to fit their style, then sack them, and replace them with a manager with a completely different system. The new manager is left with a squad that struggles to play the way they want, they don’t hit the ground running, they get time to bring in a few new players, it still doesn’t work, and they get the sack too.
Dan Ashworth was brought in to draw a line under all this, and ensure squad and system continuity if a manager left. He was opposed to Amorim because it would mean another drastic change in system. The owners overruled him, and he went.
It’s frustrating, but I don’t see sacking Amorim a few games into a season does anything other than perpetuate the cycle of failure.

Let’s face it, his current premier league performance would get the team relegated in some seasons.
I don’t for a minute think that is anywhere near likely. But it shows how poor it’s been.

It would be hard for the club to justify sacking Amorim now.
They have been clear that he was the new regimes man and he himself didn't want to take over mid season but was given reassurances by the hierarchy that he should come in sooner as he would be given ample time-to mould the squad into his system.
The only way they could save face is by admitting that we need a manager with premier league experience but the best option, thomas frank, has already gone, which leaves, Howe, Iraiola, Emery etc.

Disagree Danny, we said the same last season with Ten Hag, and how we can't sack him after backing him with arounf £200m and look where it left us. Ruben has had a pre season, got a new front line and we're still crap, there's no improvement.
Good riddance to Dan Ashworth too, didn't he have Graham Potter on the list to replace Ten Hag?

Ed001, is there any chance in hell you'd Bench Kobbie Mainoo in this utd XI? Its a joke, seething!
{Ed001's Note - no, he would be the one to build the midfield around. But then I wouldn't have let Collyer go on loan and had him next to Mainoo as they actually compliment each other. Fernandes is an excellent player, but he is not suited to playing in central midfield in a pair, he needs help. This system is still not right for the players.}

The system is sh1t, and is hindering him. It also limits Amad massively. Just play a 433 and end this madness but I can't see him changing it.

Woah nelly, let's just take a deep breath and engage our brains.
We lost against Arsenal in a game that we should have won. We were the better team but ultimately got a little unlucky with the decisions. There goal probably should have been chalked off for a foul and we had a blatant penalty completely ignored.
Against Fulham I feel the players need to front up. Cunha could and should have had two goals in the first 15 minutes, and we missed a penalty. Forget about how we played in the second half, we should have been 3-0 up by that point and if we were it would have been a very different game second half.
We look like a team that still has the look of a hangover from last season. We don't look fully comfortable and confident yet. Every set back we face we have a wobble and the performances drop.
We haven't been helped by possibly the toughest run of fixtures at the start of this season. They almost look like they've been handpicked by someone who wanted to put the pressure on our side right from the off.
Is the system and team perfect? Absolutely not, but we all knew it wouldn't be. We still need a rebuild in midfield, a goalkeeper who inspires confidence (at this point we would probably just accept competence), while there are question marks over LCB and RWB.
That's potentially 5 positions that still need to be addressed, pretty much half the team. While that's without thinking about quality squad depth.
Yet despite the clear lack of balance in midfield, and the lack of confidence in our keeper we have played two games where if the decisions were called correctly and we took some clear cut chances we would have won both games and played some pretty good and entertaining football at times.
The sky isn't falling and it's not time to panic or call for the managers head. The tactics are fine, the only real decision I think the manager has probably got wrong this season is playing Bruno in midfield. Other than that I don't see him doing anything wrong. I do see several players making mistakes that are costing us.

Welcome to Manchester United Ruben Amorim, where the supporters have a meltdown because we don’t play great for 60min but still got a point.

Well said Shappy.

It’s been clear for ages that it should be a back 4 DeLigt and Yoro would be good in that. Then you have choices for both full backs, creates extra man for midfield gives licence for Bruno to roam and still keep balance and strength in midfield with Mainoo in there too… but ol no we carry on with this crap, and most of you are lapping it up RA knows best. yeah with 24% win rate he knows nothing.
