Steve Bruce is available, is it best to strike now and get him in before someone else snaps him up.
Dream scenario is Bruce holding up that Big Earred Jug at the end of the season and we party in the street till the small hours.

We need to be awake and guard Ole. Newcastle just might be tempted by the enormous success and the impeccable growth that United have made under Ole. They might come calling.

I shouldn't make too many plans for Steve Bruce just yet - he still has to nip to the Saudi embassy to get his pay off. I beleive they call it severence pay.

Ticks a lot of boxes, knows the club and the United way, premier league experience . Fergie has probably already given him the call to go over to his house and be anointed as the next chosen one.

“I think it might be my last job. It has been very, very tough. To never really be wanted, to feel that people wanted me to fail and saying I would fail, that I was useless, a fat waste of space, a tactically inept cabbage head”.
Steve Bruce after being sacked by Newcastle, makes you think doesn't it.

The 6 million or so payoff should be of some comfort though. retire to a sunny spot. Never had Steve down as a sensitive type. I'd let someone call me a lot worse for premier league money.

Horrific Grim, should make a lot of people think before they call people names to be honest.

Steve Bruce was a warrior for us and part of the team that eventually won the EPL after 26 years. One of the best players never to get an England cap.

He’s never been a top class Manager but he’s achieved 1,000 games as a Manager so clearly at the right level he knows what he is doing. Shearer told him not to take the Newcastle job and the fans didn’t want him from the off. He deserved better than what he got so I hope he gets a huge payout and puts his feet up.

If he gets stuck he could do panto and play Widow T****y.

Maybe he will write some more books?

{Ed0666's Note - wow the ridicule for an ex club legend on this page is preposterous. I wonder how you treat your foe?

Im not ridiculing him, maybe just making a little fun but I've not written a book or managed a premier league team so hats off to Steve Bruce for both those achievements.

I think it's easy to sit there not earning huge sums of money and assume we would be fine with all the name calling and abuse if we were on that sort of money. Maybe some like to think that because it makes their conscience feel clearer for the things they have said.

Truth is our feelings are tied into how much money we get paid. And while one person saying something might be water off a ducks back, when it's thousands saying these things every week it must get to you at some point.

I remember a great quote from one of my favourite films. "The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle. "

Which highlights how easily it can be for the words people say about you impacting how you see yourself.

I think the internet and social media makes things much tougher for people who become targets as it adds a level of anonymity which always emboldens people to push things further and say things they normally wouldn't.

What happened to the old adage of "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all".

{Ed0666's Note - Kudos

He’d get in the back 4 . Still probably faster than Maguire.

If anyone ever had any doubts he has laid it out there in his interview with the Telegraph - says he was hired with the aim to keep them up each season, very little or no money to spend . He isn't a great maanger but then if this is true what were the fans expecting from him?

He had a very similar record to Benitez who they loved up there. Go figure.

Awesome player for us, solid and organised manager at Championship level.

Very good championship manager getting teams up and a true pro, always respected him. Wish him all best for future.
