Dan Ashworth's treatment sums up how bad Ratcliffe is at running a football club.
Ashworth gave him a professional assessment of what rebuilding the club would look like - slow and steady improvements by putting in solid foundations. Ratcliffe didn't want to hear that, so he looked to Wilcox to tell him what he wanted to hear.
Two years later and none of the foundations have been built. Still a disconnect between the academy system and the way the first team play. Players bought for Ten Haag and Amorim being slotted into a system that doesn't fit, and new players picked by the sporting director with a questionable fit for Carrick.
Only a matter of time until another manager is going to dropped into this hodgepodge squad and expected to magically create a cohesive unit.

last thing the club will do now is sack Carrick, that would be a disaster as the upstairs will have seen after the weekend that they need to get the fans on board fast.

The pursuit of Ashworth was ridiculous. Mitchell was available at the time, not that I'm saying he would have been any good. I dont think he would have slotted into the structure anyway
However, the club needed someone in fairly quickly to prepare for the then upcoming summer window.
There are rumours of Wilcox and Berrada possibly being sacked, with Van Der Sar being linked as the next CEO.
Consequently, we are up s*** creek without a paddle. The stench is overwhelming.

The fans cheered the club supporting ex player not the acumen of the manager. It would be a disaster if they don't sack him.

To some element I agree but I also think as proven by however managers since were were taken over that until the club is run by qualified people we find ourselves here.
Carrick is a nice guy but a caretaker is where it should have ended for me.
I still hope he turns it around but I doubt it.
These players are wrong un's though all of them. You watch them all turn up and win on Saturday.
