Lammens played very well.
Defensive frailty and an inability to break down a low block remain the main issues.
Both goals came from the right side. We need some more aerial strength.
Rashford was not terrible. Rashford and Shaw used to play quite well together when they were at their best. Sesko and Mainoo got their first touches, which they need. Bruno continued with his Portugal form. Mbuemo did better with the acrobatic chances than with the more obvious ones. Cunha could have done better with his chance.
Very disappointing performance. Definitely a reality check.

You know what will fix this? Extending Bruno's contract and upping him to 400K so that we have him tied down for when he celebrates his 35th birthday.

No need to panic after one game, and the shock might just convince the owners to do something.
Biggest thing for me is desire. Who wanted to win the first game of the season more? We have a lot of work to do.

Would just have been nice to get past the first game before becoming the banter team of the league and the butt of all jokes again.

Many many things to dissect today.
1 Bruno and Cunha were practically holding hands all game, getting in each other's way.
2 Dorgu is an athlete, but a very poor footballer; first touch is way off.
3 Our backline is poor, Maguire is still dodgy, Heaven has a lot to learn, and Shaw and Mazraoui offer very little.

The lack of intensity, which then looks like a lack of desire, was shocking.
Bruno, Tielemans, Chuna in particular looked well off the pace and were exposed time and again with sloppy play, poor touch, and 2nd to every breaking ball.
All the subs were the same: Mainoo, Rashford, and Sesko, all well off the pace.
Need to get better quickly. Lots of work to do this week for those lads.

It's every season, though. Players just look unfit... Pre-season must be a holiday camp. Very poor and worrying, in truth. This was Hull, who, let's face it, ran Utd ragged at times.

@EastStandNick, the signs were there when we got turned over by Amorim last week. Perhaps going round the world for friendlies after a World Cup wasn't a good idea.

Well, something ain't right as we start every season terrible... Be nice to actually be ready and fit. Having said that, when Utd start crap, the season tends to go well..... Im hanging on to something here.
