Not United transfer related. But seems Konsa is on the verge of joining Arsenal.
I understand this from Arsenal's point of view. But not the players. As soon as Saliba is back he’s on the bench. Seems weird to me.

He's at an age where if he wants to play for a bigger club, he has to back himself. In his head, he probably sees it as having a season to cement himself as a first choice cb at the best team in the league.

He'll probably at least double his wage at Arsenal, and get a decent term contract, lets say 5 years. Saliba is on £250k, lets say Konsa gets £200k. That's a £52M contract guaranteed without bonuses. He's 28, so this is his last big contract.
He's played Championship football for most of his early career, he's earned approx £22m over his career according to Capology.
Nice big last contract at a club he can win stuff.

On the flip side, Villa are losing some important players. Digne and Rogers have gone. Konsa is on his way out. Watkins might go to Saudi, and their keeper Martinez also looks like leaving.
They will clearly bring in replacements, but no guarantee those new players will work out. Although they probably have one of the best managers to make them work.

And he can play at right back too. Arsenal will compete for 4 trophies, so he should get plenty of game time.

I suspect that Ben White isn't going to be at Arsenal for all that much longer. Konsa will, I think, be his replacement as the player who can cover cb and rb.
Having White and Timber cover for Saliba is one thing, but neither is particularly aerially dominant, and, with how Arteta likes his team to play, I can see why he would want to upgrade White with Konsa, with Saliba being out for a large part of the season.
