Why can we never go after players like Mike Godts and Bouaddi? These players will become world class.

Because we're shopping at Aldi, not Harrods, and we're nowhere near the level of City or PSG right now.

Utd are a risk to prospective players. While some will be happy to join, others will want CL every season. This can't be guaranteed, given how inconsistent Utd have been.

Whilst nothing is ever guaranteed, other clubs have better squads, consistently challenge for the league, and are competitive in Europe.

Utd are no longer a Rolls-Royce team. History is one thing, the club's current inconsistencies mean they pose a risk to players. Notably, players have seemingly seen their careers stall at Utd.

Utd are down the pecking list against the big teams. The club must be savvy instead.

We need players that are willing to put in the effort to reach the destination.

If United went for those two players, the reaction to signing an 18 year old and 21 year old to help us progress would still be one of outrage and frustration, with the comments of needing to sign ready made players.

Right now, we do need ready made players. It's unfair to place such a huge burden on very young players.

Unless they are really really exceptional, like Rooney or Ronaldo, I would rather we steadied the ship, bought players who could handle the pressure now, and then, when we are really fighting for titles consistently, sign these players when they are in their prime around 24yrs old.

If we sign these youngsters now, they might stay for a few years, and if successful they will then be off to Real or Barca. I don't want us to grow players and then watch other clubs get them at their peak.

We do make signings like that. Yoro and Sesko are probably the most recent examples of us going out and signing the top young prospect in world football in their position. You could also argue Lammens was a top rated young GK.

Over the last 5-6 years we also did it with Amad Diallo, Rasmus Hojlund, Antony, and Jason Sancho.

Maybe Andrey Santos will reach his world class potential.

That's maybe 8 top class young signings made with top class potential over the past 5 or 6 years. Some work out, some don't. We can't sign them all.
