I think West Ham will go in for Maguire again in January. I hope we are prepared and willing to be more cooperative. We need to get Todibo in.

I know January window is notoriously hard to do business, but I think this one makes sense. I also see us going for an attacking player. Someone who is versatile across the front.

I am not a MAguire fan by any stretch. In fact I don't think I've known a more maligned player at Utd in decades. But let's be reasonable, he's at least featured for Utd a few times this season.
Kalvin Phillips on the other hand hasn't kicked a ball for about 2 years.

southgate is a very poor manager. england has a wealth of talent. the idea that he starts maddison on the left side instead of rash says it all.

Henderson in midfield and maguire at cb will not win you anything.

Southgate has done little wrong as England manger. Missed some good changes for glory, that he got us into in the first place for sure, against Croatia and Italy. But - Right man, right job, right time.

Name a better, and available English manager and awesome, let’s have him in. In the meantime, we’ve won one trophy ever, in 1966, so not sure where our expectations come from?

Potter could have been that guy, but his Chelsea failure will hamper him.

If you look back in history England have largely had a reputation of playing experience over form.

For example we had the best “in form” central defence in Bruce and Pallister who understood each other and yet one of them never played for England!

Even the great Robson who was admittedly an immense talisman played games he should not have either through injury or form.

John Barnes! Don’t start me on that one! Couldn’t kick snow off a rope or run out of sight on a dark night in England shirt. But was chosen every time.

Le Tissier was never really given the chances he deserved despite scoring for fun as an attacking midfielder at club level.

Admittedly the world is full of such players who should have/ could have, so it must be hard for the manager who has to win the next tournament at all costs.

Southgate has picked McGuire because he sees him as reliable. Stats say he’s Southgate’s best performing defender and was even named in the team of the tournament at the WC. But surely lack of playing time must be a massive negative.

Said a number of times, Ole Gunnar Southgate. Yes, he got us to a final and latter stages, but like Ole and as a former defender, he thinks how not to lose first and foremost. That is hampering him and England when there isn’t a truly great Country side dominating. For me he has missed an opportunity there.

Maguire is getting so much slack in the media wow. Southgate is like Martinez for me. Great talent pool to pick from but line ups are a mess and not sure what he is trying to do. Sometimes trying to look like a master tactician but in real terms turns into master turd.

Play the best guys in their position. Rashford is the best left winger in the England and will score goals and create goals. Playing him part time in sub appearances is madness. cost him the game against France in WC.

Rash made that point against kounde in the Barcelona games last year.

I thought Maddison is playing well enough to start ahead of Rash and Grealish probably would have got the nod ahead of either if he hadn't withdrawn. Aside from a great goal vs Arsenal Rashy (or any Utd player) has yet to click yet IMO.

Southgate is an awful manager. He is a yes man.

He has a wealth of talent to choose from that someone like Jose would be rubbing his hands together.

The side practically picks itself.

I think he would struggle at club level.
