See Reguilon and Bale trained separately from the rest of the RM team last week. Ed is there any whispers of us approaching Bale for a possible loan as a stop gap to return for sancho next year?

I have read this week that real are willing to pay a large percentage of his wages to gwt him out of the squad?

Does this have any legs? I would be happy to have him on loan for a year!

{Ed002's Note - Real Madrid are looking to sell Bale not send him out on loan.}

Just out of interest ed002 what sort of fee would they command?

{Ed002's Note - About €25M.}

Make a cheeky offer of 20 million euros and if he would accept lower wages it coukd be a decent signing for a year or 2.

Would give us options to address other areas.

Bale on his day and fit is quality but you don't want to be in a situation of a sanchez type signing again.

I’m somewhat amazed that they are asking for a free considering the wages that he’s on and the number of appearances he makes for them. I like to believe that there isn’t anybody out there who is stupid enough to sign an inconsistent player with a poor attitude who’s on such ridiculous wages and for a ridiculous fee. but given Ed Woodward’s history.

Why would he leave a 3 year contract with crazy wages, playing in a club were he is guaranteed to win stuff, to sign a 2 year contract with a smaller team, and on top of that take a pay ut?

You appear to have spelled your name incorrectly.

Hi Ed, thanks for the info as always. Do you think Bale still has something to offer as a player, providing he stays fit?

{Ed002's Note - In his 30s it won't be for long - but a short-term solution.}

The only way I'd want us to sign Bale is if his contract was heavily performance based pay. Basic salary of say 120k per week, with the rest based on actually playing and performing.

For too long he has drifted along at Real Madrid showing no fight, commitment or passion to get back playing regularly. He has ignored doctors advice and played golf while injured, potentially exasperating injuries and delaying recovery time. The only time he has considered leaving Real Madrid was for a 1m a week deal in China.

Quite simply I don't think he has the desire to play football anymore.

{Ed047's Note - he must be a million miles away from being fit enough to play for some time too.

Bigger mistake than Sanchez. At least Sanchez still wants to play football. Bale has no desire, completely checked out of his career.

Just the wrong signing imo just from a football perspective a guy in his 30's who's not played for a while and is heavily reliant on his pace it is just asking for trouble.

I tbink its unfair to say Bale has no desire to play football. From the outside looking in it seems to me that he does want to play but Zidane does not want him. If that is true and that as various journalists have reported over the years that Bale was frozen out and offered around I can quite believe he might feel insulted.

He has been a fantastic footballer and I think been treated shabbily by Madrid IF the reports are true. You do not win so many titles and become man of the match in a champions league final if you are rubbish.

It may even work in his favour that because he has not played so much latterly he might be able to play at a higher level for longer. A fit Bale would definitely help Utd but I agree with others it should be on a pay per play contract.

A loan could work, permanent could backfire. If we have a player with a point to prove and the right attitude it would work, but somebody just picking up a high wage and no effort then it's Sanchez mark 2. I think these few years hardly playing can work for him long term, less wear and tear on his body and he should be pretty fresh.

Such a shame. I always hoped he'd end up here at some point. Lad's been doing himself no favours whatsoever. Could you see Messi or Ronaldo being happy to sit on the bench, rather than take a pay cut and go and play football somewhere else?

If Sancho deal is difficult, Bale should be signed only if it is an incentiviced deal.
