Numerous reports that a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo has been finally agreed with Brentford.
Really hope it is true and the deal can be completed as soon as possible.
Let's get moving on to other target's.

With RA desperate to work ad long as possible with the squad before the season starts I wonder how many more signings we will make apart from Mbuemo?
I think withing the next ten we will have at least two more players in and see three out. Then in last week of the window can see one or two more leaving like Rash and Garna for way below what we should have got a d maybe one more incoming.
What are your thoughts?

From what I've seen, somebody faked an Ornstein update on Reddit about an agreement being reached, and that, along with Brentford's interest in Omari Hutchinson, has triggered an almighty finger-wriggle.
I do hope I'm wrong, but I smell poo.

Some no name on twitter dropped it. Apparently bs. But it’s ok we’ve only been negotiating for 42 days so loads of time left.

The biggest Mbeumo news today is that he’s reported back to training. Which, as a Brentford player he should rightly do.
I get the feeling we’re making a hash of this deal.

Reports now that Brentford will only sell one of Mbuemo and Wissa. Some people are also speculating that the reason we’re dragging our heels is because we didn’t want to pay Mbeumo’s wages for June. Ridiculous if true.

I think Mbeumo will happen. I suspect it is just posturing our end as the player has agreed to join us. Fee, structure of payments etc.
One thing for sure is we will be disappointed with lack of signings come the end of window, like usual, but I think we will be okay next season.
{Ed025's Note - but what do you see as okay Sydney?...avoiding relegation, finishing mid table or aiming for top 6?..

Now on Sky Sports:
"The gap between Manchester United and Brentford on their valuation of Bryan Mbeumo remains considerable, according to The Athletic's David Ornstein.
The two sides are several million pounds apart.
There have been no significant developments over the past couple of weeks, and a deal is still not imminent, but talks continue as United work to complete a move for the Cameroon forward. "
I guess it's still ongoing then.

Fizz, absolutely, posturing. I don't think it is just the amount, but the structure too.

Honestly 25, I think we will do far better against the lower teams (so to speak), picking up many more points than last season. I actually think with the bigger teams buying up the smaller clubs' best players this summer, they will not be as strong.
I genuinely think Prem proven players like Cunha and Mbeumo (if signed) will start and settle quickly. These players have been plying their trade against these other Prem defenses for a while. But we will see I guess.
{Ed025's Note - i think Cunha and Mbeumo (if you get him) will be excellent recruits Sydney, scoring has been a problem and these 2 will cure that i expect, i think there is a lot more to be done before you become competitive at the top end though mate and my guess would be that you finish around 8th, still a lot of work to do but it will not happen overnight because the defence and keeper are pretty poor as well, a work in progress as they say..

Wow, I've just searched Ed002 and found he passed in November. Huge loss to this site. Feel a bit sick. RIP Ed002.
{Ed025's Note - a major loss mate..

I agree 100% Ed0025. I do not think we can mount a serious challenge yet. But I do think in the past few seasons our biggest issue is we struggle against the weaker sides. No games are a gimme in the EPL, but teams like City and Liverpool (Last season) swept the lower teams aside. United have lost the fear factor under Fergie and the overwhelm that teams used to feel going to Old Trafford. Teams actually go to OT and expect a result now. I think with all the lower sides (so to speak) selling their best players and us buying EPL proven players, we will pick up more points against those so called weaker teams next season.
{Ed025's Note - yeah Syd who would have thought a few years ago that the likes of Forest, Bournemouth and Brentford would finish above United?, as you say the league is so competitive and there are no easy games thats for sure mate, but lets be honest even a weak United side should be top half at worst but recruitment and the running of the club has been abysmal in recent times, its a long way back and you have to get rid of the mentally weak players and trouble makers first before you can progress, that seems to have started but this is not a quick fix..

Ed002 was a CFC supporter also and a big CFC fan and reporter/ on the know also died on November.
Yes I miss 002 knowledge, His arrogance and the sharkopods
But I don't miss the numerous requests for player detail profile.
{Ed025's Note - he was not really a big fan of Chelsea RDF or of football in general, he did have connections at the club though and knew a lot of people in the higher echelons of the game mate, a big loss to the site..

Yeah Ed002 is a huge loss. I used to use his comments to gauge the truth, if he said it’s happening, it did!
Who was he? Was he an agent himself?
