It seems some people only support United, during the transfer window. Why is everyone so worried about losing two players that let's face it are not World beaters. Granted they are good players, but come on, how many people knew of Otamendi 2 years ago and how many of those people whinging about Pedro have actually looked at the Man Utd squad? Do you not want are own players to prosper, i.e Januzaj, Pereira, James Wilson.

Ultimately, I believe we need a cb and cf, but I would not whine about losing two untested foreign players, who have no idea how tough the premier league is. If we don't sign anyone, will i be bothered, not really. We have strengthen the middle and added a great attacker, plus made the right side a lot more solid. If we where to buy to many, how will they gel? Every fan thinks if you buy a new team you instantly get trophies. I hope United is laying the foundations for after LVG, while allowing him a couple of seasoned professionals like Bastian.

Please guys, let's not get those green and golds out just yet.

Green and Golds? Are we becoming Norwich Fans?

The management team wanted to strengthen the spine of the team at the start of the summer. This hasn't happened. Our net spend is equivalent to West Ham's and we have shaved a huge amount of wages from our bill. A few weeks ago the manager was still talking about the need to add creativity, and bring in new faces.

People can dress it up any way they want: only bringing in players who will wear the shirt with pride, giving young players the chance, not destabilising the squad by adding too many players, and so on. But these are all hollow excuses.

The simple fact is that we have clearly not achieved what the management team wanted at the start of the summer, and the two players we missed out on this week was due to balking at the costs. We we're far behind both Chelsea and City last season. These clubs are adding more depth and quality to their squads this summer, and I don't think many people can argue that we have made significant inroads on their dominance with our transfer dealings this summer.

Because shiny new signings are the be all and end all, we couldn't possibly win anything with the players we have already, didn't you know?

4.) 21 Aug 2015 13:34:04
The club, it would seem have worked strongly on Smalling judging by his start to the season. Strengthening the team doesn't always mean investing money but also investing time in what we have.

5.) 21 Aug 2015 13:39:33
Net spend, net spend, net spend, it's all getting very boring on here at the minute.

6.) 21 Aug 2015 13:27:59
Do you think we can win the league or CL with the players we already have? Does anyone seriously think that?

The management team don't, or they wouldn't have been in the "process" of trying to bring in new players for the last month. Let's call a spade a spade, we finished 17 points off top spot last season and our investment this summer does not match the ambition of club intent on closing this.

Danny,

Your posts are sounding more and more like a spoilt child each time I read one pal, you need to lighten up.

8.) 21 Aug 2015 16:41:31
Danny, is this the same investment that lead us to sign one of the brightest young talents in europe, a world cup winner, an actual solid right back and the second best holding midfelider in the premier league (after matic imo).

Its fair enough to think we need more players as their are obvious areas in the team that can be improved but the players we've brought in have been of the desired quality and done with minimal fuss.

9.) 21 Aug 2015 17:17:13
So your usual: I can't argue against what you're saying, so I'll resort to petty insults.

10.) 21 Aug 2015 19:12:27
No Danny he is saying your post are making you sound like a spoilt child and he is right IMO

So Schweinsteiger will be the first German first team player. I know we had Ron Zieler in the reserves, but Schweinsteiger will be the first to play for us. Why do you think that is? Over the years there have been some great Germans, some playing in this country from Klinsman, Ballack, Ozil and Didi Hamann, also I liked Ziegler as well for spurs. However, there wasn't any drawn to our great club, I find that strange.

Do you reckon it was weather, wages, content with being at Bayern, Ferguson or just club morale's? I should imagine Louis Van Gaal was a big factor for this transfer though.

Germans are known to stay within their country or nearby, similar to English players.

I think it's a mixture of that, not targets or not needed at that moment of time. But maybe Fergie just didn't prefer them?

Either way i'm happy we started with our first one being the German Captain, will surely be a pulling point when looking into buying other Germans.

Does anyone else find it funny how Bayern said
"No more players will be signing for Man Utd, THIS summer?"
Obviously, I could be reading into it to much, or maybe the actual sentence has been fleshed out a bit. However, generally speaking people would just say "No other players will be sold to Man Utd" so maybe Mueller is a possibility in the future? but just not this summer.

Yes you are reading too much into it. They're not going to say "no more players will sign for United for the next 5 years" lol. Who knows the future? As Mr Ronaldo loves to quote

I appreciate what your saying Weggy, I really like our midfield and the fact we have a very diverse set of players. However, I will wait to see them play against these elite teams before I say we have one of the best midfields in Europe. They all have immense skill, but have yet to play with each other, that coupled with our a main midfield recruit yet to play in the champions league. I would rather be pleasantly surprised in Europe, than disappointed. let's conquer England before Europe.

Not a huge fan of Lewandowski, great goal scorer, but i just don't think he has the physicality for the premiership. I think we need a target man to play at the tip of a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, someone like a Costa. I like Bacca, Cavani has the physicallity but a bit to pricey, Kane was never going to come, but can you imagine the price after City and Sterling! I like Lukaku though but no chance. I really can't see a big name striker coming in while Rooney is still there and i don't think he will be leaving any time soon.

May I ask why you think we have one of the strongest midfields in Europe? don't get me wrong i'm excited and can't wait for the season to begin, i also think we could do well in the league, but Europe is a dream for me. When you think Carrick has not played in the competition for a year and is getting on, Schneirderlin has not played in it before, Schweinsteiger being sold by a club with a fantastic midfield, Felliani will probably push up top, Herrera, who i love btw, has not played in the top tier European competition and well Young and Valencia. Maybe we should be a bit reserved with Europe, the league maybe, Europe no.

I'm not trying to be a pleb, but i'm still a bit reserved about Europe, however i think Louis Van Gaal's system could work well in the competition though.

I am very keen tiddlywinker, but when i'm not owning the counters I try to kick a ball straight. It funny how everyone plays or used to play football on a football forum ;).

Just finished my degree in business management and I am the lead singer of the band 'LOWrise' hence the username. Check us out lowrisemusic.com, self promotion :)

i love when someone asks these questions, I like hearing the different backgrounds of Manchester Utd fans and where their from in the World. Granted you're not a real fan if you're not from Manchester, right 'I am Kloot' ;)
