I don't see any big names being signed in the next 3 windows, they will sell on the high earners and bring in young up and up and coming players. This might suit ETH if he can last that long.

I for one would really like to see that sort of approach but I think we also need a few more experienced heads around too.

Hope so…we’ve been guilty of chasing names far too long. Maybe buying younger, eager talent will get us further.

God I hope so. After all the vast majority of our success has been built on academy players along with signing mostly younger up and coming players.

The vast majority of players we have ever signed who are in their peak years (typically 27-30) have been either underwhelming or outright flopped.

Obviously there will be some fans who'll be unhappy with how the club is run going forward. There always is. But if they go down a route of looking to bring in some of the best and well scouted up and coming players who are hungry to prove themselves. Well I'll be over the moon with that. Especially if there is also a focus on developing our academy with the aim of producing top talent for the first team, along with looking to play an exciting, progressive, front foot style of play.

That to me would be just about perfect.

Imo the experience needs to be within the club and not bought hence why it never works out for us.
The lads that are in the younger bracket like martinez would be a perfect example, once he's been here a couple more seasons will be captain and the experience we need.

I agree aswell. It would be nice to buy some younger, cheap players, develop them and potentially sell them on for a profit, should they wish to leave in the future.

Utd are awful at selling players, having initially overpayed for them. Then selling them on for a pittance.

We have wasted a criminal amount of money on players that had no sell on value. I imagine we will stop paying large fees for players that cannot be recovered when they leave. Naturally this will require slightly younger players. But SJR will still be looking for quick improvement to the first team. He needs to show improvement quickly to show that this is different to the the Glazer ownership that has come before.

JCBlanc will want to make reducing wages a priority then bringing in players with younger profile.

Expecting BIG clear out Jan and Summer reader for complete overhaul in Summer.

Before we clear out, is our scouting network in order.

We have over 140/ 150 scouts on our payroll I read. Its one of the largest if not the largest network in football. Its too many if you ask me and not sure what they do and how that translates into our transfer activity as you don't need a scouts to purchase a cas or varrane and some of the other bug name players we have paid through the nose transfer fees.

Indeed and what is the point of getting 150 scouting reports if we're just going to run with what the manager prefers. I'm not saying he needs to be ignored and am not focussing just on EtH, but someone above and around the manager needs to have a louder voice. I get a manager saying 'I need this or that profile' player to fill this gap in the squad, or do this/ that, and then the recruitment do the rest from scouting the players to valueing and attempting to acquire them.

On a music level, I'm tone deaf, but from a footballing sense, I'm Mozart.

DoF sets the tone
Manager orchestrates
Scouts provide the instruments

My point is this.

We have scouts (a lot according to above posts), but do those scouts have a brief of the instruments we require, and if so, do they have it in their bag to provide the instruments we need.

From my side, once the time is set (not sure it is yet), then ALL positions should ALWAYS be up for renewal. It will keep the current crop (not physically now but future crops) on their toes. They will know the process, as they will have been part of it.

The message will be clear, perform or go. Keep playing the tune, or go.
