Love to see DVB play instead of Brunio l think HD would be very good with Casamero and Ericsson, good first touch vision and control, would work in the system.

I agree however I don't see dvb being used, nor should he. Shown nothing at all to suggest he can earn a place in the team. Push eriksen forward and play one of mcfred alongside Casemiro.

With injuries to Martial, Anthony and Sancho for tonight’s game and the fact we need to score at least two goals to go through I’d love to see VdB given a chance this evening.

This might be an unpopular opinion and others may argue there is little evidence to suggest VdB is capable of positively impacting this Utd team but I’d just like to see him get some minutes in a EtH system before the final sentence of his Man Utd obituary is written.

Void of a recognised RW and with Elanga ineffective on Sunday from that position I’d move Bruno to the right with VdB at No10.

I understand Bruno is not a RW and he would obviously play the role differently to the likes of Anthony or Sancho but he is a fantastic crosser of the ball. I think if he could get on the ball in pockets of space on the right and look to put crosses into the box for Ronaldo he could still be a threat and impact the game.

I think VdB has a brilliant appreciation of space and constantly makes very intelligent runs off the ball. His movement is perhaps one of his best attributes or rather it was when he was at his best. Now we have the likes of Eriksen and Casemiro in midfield capable of retaining possession and finding those runs I think he could be a real threat in a more controlled, possession based team which we have been slowly transitioning towards this season. I also think it could benefit Ronaldo as he seems to be dropping a lot deeper this season by VdB making penetrative runs ahead of him and Bruno looking to provide him with service from crosses rather than passes in behind for which he just no longer has either the pace or even the appetite for these days it would seem.

We all know what Fred and Mctominay can do. Whilst both are good squad options perhaps neither quite suit a game where we’ll need to score goals and create chances. With no RW in the squad I just wonder if this could be VdB’s chance to make a real impact in a Utd shirt.
