Ed02, a couple of questions if you don't mind:

1) Are we still targeting a CB? If so, do we have a preferred option as most of the ones listed previously seem to be heading elsewhere (Timber, Torres, Kim Min-jae etc) .

2) Is Amrabat our primary target now for the DM position? Seems somewhat uninspiring if so. Any other players we still hold an interest in as like with CB's, a few listed previously have gone/ heading elsewhere?

Amrabat is pretty good. Stood out whenever I've watched him at the world cup and in the conference league final where Rice was also playing. He's at a good age, apparently available at no more than 40M and can play either alongside or in place of Casemiro. Could be an inspired signing if we get him.

Amrabat is an excellent CDM and also for the price would be a very good signing.

Any club getting Amrabat for under 35 mill are getting a bargain - terrific player who would improve us if we were ever in the runnning for him.

Gotta agree that Amrabat could be a great option, but again I can only base that view on what I saw at the World Cup when he was fantastic. Quite understated and able to do a bit of everything. With Mount probably a more offensive option, could be a decent few midfield options.

Amrabat would be an outstanding signing. Could play alongside Casemiro when we need to close games out and instead of him when our soon-to-be new vice captain needs a break/ is suspended.

As for centre halves, Disasi is as cumbersome as Maguire and should be avoided at all costs. I can’t believe we haven’t gone in for Timber or Torres at £40m. Todibo, van de Ven, Upamecano etc. all respresent far better options for us. Varane cannot play three games in a week - the CB signing needs to be strong.

Ambrabat is an excellent player and a great addition. He might not be as sexy or well known as some of the other names that get floated around but he having watched him through the world cup and a few games in Italy, He has always been excellent playing against much more touted expensive opposition.

I am surprised at the figures being quoted to get him and as ed says more to it. We can pretty much not worry about our midfield for a few years if he joins with what we already have and can play against anyone with him in there.
