Let this be a lesson to any coach. You can not constantly ? on players and expect them then to turn around and work for you.
45 matches, 17 wins, a 24% win ratio in the premier league.
I like him, he speaks open and honestly, seems like a lovely guy but just doesn't seem to have what it takes for this moment in time. He has not improved one aspect of what we see on the pitch.
I'm not sure where we go from here or what happens now. i'm not calling for him head but it looks shocking right now. I'm sick of the merry go round or managers but I was just looking for a glimmer of hope that what he was trying to do was working but I've seen absolutely nothing.

They will stick with him but will get rid of him eventually. He can’t win the way he sets us up.

Well said Angel.
I’m the same, I like Amorim and want him to succeed but can’t see improvement either.
I don’t like the way he’s treated some of the players and not impressed by him hiding from penalties.
I’d give him until November. He needs to improve rapidly.

"You can not constantly ? on players and expect them then to turn around and work for you. "
Who and when has he "constantly ? on players"?

I left after seeing post after post calling for the manager's head. Got bored with it.

Was surprised he didn’t bring Bayindir on for the penalties. I’m embarrassed to say I actually burst out laughing on the 8th penalty.
The formation is slightly different but as a professional sports man whether your 10 yards back or forward you should still be able to play the game.
The most stand out moment was on the first goal, Fredrickson? A youth team player is the only United player anywhere near the goal scorer. Is he running to try and block, no he is slowly jogging towards him. The Grimsby player would be busting a gut and throwing himself at the ball. That comes from seeing our overrated home grown players doing the same and it’s rotten. Bruno sulking and probably being the worst player on the pitch as captain doesn’t help.
Not done anywhere near enough in the transfer market not because RA needs his own players because so many of them are not fit for purpose.
On a brighter note the front 3 showing signs of working together.

Hi fizz
There have been numerous occasions where he has called out the squad. We also have been left with a "BOMB SQUAD" all of which plays negatively in my opinion and reflects in our performances. 45 games now, 17 wins, 24% win rate in the PL and we have just been outplayed by a 4th division English team.
He has been quoted saying things like
"Worst united team in History"
"Underperforming players"
"Completely lost"
"Heading towards relegation battle"
"My job is so so hard"
"Not equipped to play European football this season"
All these off the top of my head by the way. I'm sure if I dig, there's more.
He went in there with a hand grenade. I said this months ago, name me one manager in history that has said/ done what he has done and got success off the back of it.
There was no cuteness to the way he did it. Instead of galvanising, he called them out and shock, horror, the team performed even worse than before.
We were all told on here by various posters that we just needed a decent coach as ETH was crap. Well how crap is he now? ?.

Angel, there are improvements, you can see them in most parts of the pitch. The results haven't changed much yet, but the improvements are there.
The problem is that this is a 3 year project and people are expecting to see something close to the end product within 6 months.
The constant comparisons to other clubs doesn't help because it's done without any context. Those other clubs don't have the same level of expectations, those other clubs don't have the same decade of mismanagement to unpick before they can even start to move forward, they don't have totally disjointed, Frankenstein squad that has no identity or cohesion to adapt, while there are different types of managers who do different things. Recently we've been compared to Spurs with Thomas Frank, yet he's a very different type of manager. He doesn't have a system, he's a pragmatist, constantly changing his teams game plan to suit the players he has. That works when you have a coherent squad that have been assembled to play within a specific set of parameters. That Spurs squad is also overall a better squad than we have.
As for Amorim, he doesn't ? on the players, he speaks clearly and openly, he is fair and he holds players accountable, but his criticisms are always constructive and he always takes responsibility for his players. He always says that it is his and his coaching staffs job to work with the players to help them not make those mistakes. He doesn't ever throw them under the bus.
While being a young manager can have it's drawbacks, such as him clearly being too emotional after games. Something he has said he realises and he does a good job of measuring his comments while battling those emotions. The advantage he has from being a young manager is that it wasn't so long ago that he was a player himself and that means he can better understand his players. Everything that is said about him, even from players he has supposedly "fallen out" with us positive and they don't have a bad word to say about him. Rashford for example spoke kindly about Amorim recently despite him leaving his boyhood club under Amorim.
The players have also spoken about the good atmosphere the manager has created at the club over the end of last season and over the summer.
Ultimately this is a 3 year project to turn the club around both on and off the pitch, big changes are happening and will continue to happen. But we can't stand here after 6 months and expect to see something close to the finished article. let's be honest we aren't even out of the knocking down and clearing the ground phase of the rebuild, yet some fans feel we should be just adding the finishing touches away from being able to compete at the highest level.
Yes I know Grimsby are a long way from the highest level, but you need a top quality squad full of leaders with character to be able to rotate the squad and maintain performances against teams who see you as their once in a lifetime chance for glory. We are a long way from having that.
{Ed025's Note - come on Shappy lets call a spade a spade mate, yes he has improved the forward line but the rest of it is still a crap show, nobody was expecting miracles but improvement is the least you wanted to expect my friend..

That Midfield has needed sorting for well over a decade since Carrick hung up his boots, i had hopes that this was the summer we would address it but it seems they opted for a sticking plaster in the shape of Bruno who doesn't fit.
The brains trust need to find him something here before Monday.

Angel, were any of those quotes wrong? Was/ is his assessment inaccurate? These guys need to grow up and accept responsibility and criticism. Babies! Gen Z babies! They need to grow a pair and do their job!
If you only want one name, J Mourinho. I don't like him, and I never wanted him at my club, but he hasn't entirely missed out on success by being 'outspoken'.
