Just seen mufc fans saying they'd be happy to lose against Norwich if it meant LVG got the sack.

I personally think that's ridiculous I mean I would rather we had Jose, ancellotti or pep but I would never want us to lose any game ever.

But is there anyone on here who would be happy for us to take a loss if it meant LVG gets the boot.

Nope, never want us to lose. But the reality is that if LVG doesn't change his approach we will contuine to struggle to win games.

Win, Lose, or draw van gaal needs to go. A win will not help him out the door.

Never. that's just not right, you should always back the manager and hope he gets the best result possible.

It's disgusting and tbh I don't class those people as real fans.

I find it as disgusting, as fans wanting a person sacked!

I don't feel sorry for managers getting sacked, earning millions in employment, millions being kicked out of employment then prob millions signing into new employment, some of these managers wanna try managing in the national league or lower where sacking means the dole queue.

A true Manchester United supporter in my eyes would never want the team to lose its something I can't get my head around maybe I'm just old school. The world is changing at a pace so are people's attitudes. They want and need instant success instance communication instant data etc. Jaysus when I wad growing up all we had was instant coffee😀😀.

saying a true fan wouldn't want the team to lose is a bit shortsighted, maybe those wanting a loss are thinking of the bigger picture. Would it be better to have a few bad results to ensure LVG is sacked and the future of the club look better or carry on with this shambles of a philosophy for another 18 months. Playing his way there will be plenty more losses to come this season anyway.

Jaime,

Many people on here already think you are a bit of a joke posting embarrassing things during games, posts suggesting you want the team to lose when we are near the top of the table are misjudged and pretty embarrassing.

There's a post down the page about a true fan never wanting us to lose etc. I ideally would like to spark more of a debate rather than people just saying the obvious thing of "I never want us to lose" or, "if you think that you aren't a real fan", etc etc.

Trying to take the tribalism out of it and agreeing we all want what is best for the club in the long run, (why would you even bother with this website if you didn't want that, so I think every fan on here is a true fan? )

It's a bit more complicated than it should be for me as normally I would say anything but a convincing home win would leave me very disappointed. Of course I hope we smash Norwich 5-0 and play good football. However the chances are it will be 0-0 with one team sneaking it maybe - certainly a lot cagier than we would expect of our team against PL fodder. If we lose 1-0 and it proves to be the straw that breaks the camels back then I wouldn't be as upset as I normally would with a loss, it's the truth and I think more people think this than are letting on. That doesn't mean I want us to lose, it just means that losing to Norwich isn't as bad as it normally may be and it could be the best thing for us in the long run.

It's very easy to say I want to win every game and will support the team and players no matter what, but very few of us like every player, the manager or the way we play. If you like everything then I think you are either blinded or lying to yourself because there isn't a lot to like at the minute, it has been a horrible 3 years and we need to wash our hands of this project sharpish.

Frankly one bad result on top of many others isn't going to break our hearts or change how we feel about the club as true fans. We are in for the long haul unlike our manager and many of the players. It may just be one defeat too many for the manager and will force the club to act before the window opens and whilst capable managers are available.

We have a very short timeframe to get our house in order, we can get a top manager potentially, we can make some sensible signings in the window potentially and we could still win the league potentially. In 2 months all of those things will be much harder/impossible and it may mean we are stuck with LVG for a lot longer. If we have to lose another 3 games all season I would want them to come in our next 3 games so it forces the club to act now.

Doing nothing is reckless gambling, there is a strong chance there will be another year out of the CL if we keep the status quo and then we all suffer for 12 months+ not just one weekend.

So before kick off I am excited and hoping we finally click, but after 20 minutes I have no doubt that I will be thinking, "at least this could be the last time I have to see hook nose in the dug out of our great club", silver linings and all.

So i'd swallow a loss tomorrow if it meant the end of LVG and I'd rather lose than draw. Let's face it he isn't going to go the rest of the season unbeaten so a loss is better now whilst we still have options. If he wins against Norwich then loses against Stoke, he is under less pressure and the club won't necessarily act - it's about losing to two relegation clubs in a row that should spell the end. I want to win but a loss isn't all bad necessarily (If the club don't act it's even worse than a normal loss) .

So I appreciate my view won't be popular, but I wonder how many people agree with my thinking?

Just imagine no rival supporters are reading this and be honest, nobody knows who we are. Sometimes a short dose of pain saves a life time of agony, you aren't Judas for thinking this way in my view.
