I won't comment on the striker options other than to say you should ignore the "potential" and go for players who want to to play for you and have the right character. Get that sorted first. Pretty much what Klopp did when he first started at LFC. People laughed when he signed Milner but he paid it back in spades just in the way he changed the dressing room culture.
Mind you I think you missed the boat by not going for Kelleher as GK. Already an upgrade on Onana (not that that would be hard) and wouldve been cheap (and home grown) . He is only going to get better imho and you prob wouldve had that position sorted for the next 6 years or at least until you had the money to afford an elite GK.

I wouldve thought going on loan to a relegation challenger would mean he would see way more action that if he joined a higher team.

If you think Mourinho used to throw players under the bus then wait til you have rodgers and you lose a match. He will do it with much less justification. He does have a good record with coaching players but i'm not convinced he is any better at tactically making changes within a match. He prob has a better idea of what style he wants to play but does he have a plan B for when things aren't working? And will his ego being able to handle being in the same dressing room as the egos you already have in there?

Take this with a grain of salt as I haven't seen as much of him as I would like. Unlike many players nowadays, he is pretty good with both feet. On the ball it looks like he has good vision - picks passes well. Happy to take players on, good dribbler (did I mention that he uses both feet) and uses his body well to shield the ball. Is fast and strong. Defensively i'm not so sure, Takes up good positions but seems to rely heavily on his pace and long legs. Not so sure about his striking of the ball - tends to scuff it too much for my liking (which means his long passes don't have as much pace as they should) . However everything I've seen suggest that he is a real player and if he continues to work hard on his game then whoever gets him is getting a bargain.

Klopp used to get heavily criticised for his use of subs. The reality was that he didn't think they were ready and so was sparing in the minutes they got. i'd think you should give Ole a chance to ease the youngsters in. He will be watching them in training to see if they are ready (and some might never be) but throwing them in before they are ready won't necessarily help their development.

Shappy I like your optimism. But i think the biggest conundrum you guys face is the number of players you have who don't care that they are playing for ManU. I think you can be quietly happy that the recruiting staff have finally woken up to the fact that a players who hungers to paly for you guys is way better than someone who has come for the money.
And personally I don't rate casemiro anywhere near as highly as you do. Teams are clearly setting traps in the hope the ball will be passed to him so that they can press him. He is poor in possession and so slow. i'd go so far as to say we got the way deal buying Endo - not as flashy but way more effective (and cheaper)
However overall its hard to argue with your assessment that your midfield needs work. But i suspect your management will wait a year so they can find some more pennies down the back of the lounge (AKA sack a couple more low paid staff to free some money up) . Certainly there is little chance of them actually providing it out of their own pocket.
not trying to have a go at your guys btw. My brother has been a die hard manu fan since the 80's plus I hate seeing what scummy management has reduced you guys to (if only because i had to live through the Hicks and Gillet saga at my club) .

I think the biggest thing holding you back atm is OGS. Look at how well organised Chelsea were when they went a man down against Liverpool - each player knew what they were doing and Tuchel's subs were spot on.

I think Mikey might be on the right track. Klopp likes to press high but you guys don't need to follow that. Just need to work out what style best suits the way you want to play and then work towards it. But would require the backing of the management (did someone mention Woodward? ) and patience. It won't come overnight - I mean we still haven't won anything and Klopp has been in charge for a few years now.

Barcelona have long stopped doing things Cruyff's way - which is one of the reasons why they are not the force they used to be.
{Ed0333's Note - I agree mate.

Its not all doom and gloom. 3 years ago, our defence was arguably as bad as yours and we had a worse gk. In fact, you do have the makings of a decent defence but you need to buy smart and shift on those who aren't good enough for the level you want to be at. An older CB such as Alderweireld (or perhaps Godin if you want to play a deep line) would prob work wonders with your younger backs. But I think bohzman nailed it - what happens next for you guys depends on how the Glazers see the club.
