So it seems Real Madrid want Koulibaly and that could clear the path for Varane to leave. Have we shown any interest in him Ed's as I think he would slot in nicely next to Lindelof?

{Ed002's Note - It drags on rather but Real Madrid may be willing to let him leave for the right price as part of their major rebuild programme which has seen them add another CB for the summer already and they are chasing another younger CB as well. The long term interest is from Manchester United but they have other targets now.}

1.) 02 Apr 2019 10:57:28
would love him as our CB. to think he's only 25 seems like he's been around for ages.

19 Dec 2018 13:35:48
Maybe Ole can bring back the 'United Way' of attacking football and the mentally of you score 2 we score 3. Good luck to him and us.

29 Aug 2016 19:39:01
Looks like will keane going to Hull on a permanent transfer. Good luck to the guy hope he does well.

1.) 30 Aug 2016 03:32:56
Always wonder what would have happened if it wasn't for the cruciate injury. He scored for fun, and looked a proper prospect before that.

2.) 30 Aug 2016 15:55:08
watched him all through the youth teams he scored for fun just on the edge of 1st team football and cruciate took away nearly 2 years. could of been a star who knows but never the same after the injury good luck will keane.

so supposedly real Madrid may be looking to offload James and is considered. personally think if we could get them then all we would need is a couple of world class cbs and we would definitely be a formidable force again.

1.) 15 Dec 2015 07:08:50
I must say, I actually wouldn't mind that deal? James is a fantastic player, but would they get De Gea involved again?!

If they did, all that would mean is pulling out stops for Butland? I like him a lot and at 22 has the potential to become England's next no. 1?

2.) 15 Dec 2015 07:34:04
No doubt James is a class act but can he play in shackles?

3.) 15 Dec 2015 10:31:12
A pay rise is what the doctor orders for James, no chance he leaving unless his abilities drastically decrease in the next 6 months.

28 Nov 2014 14:11:36
so we have rojo back in training which is good news. also considering a swap deal for w carvalio for nani plus 14 mil. 30 mil bid for varane in jan expected. all according to give me sport things are looking up at last my fellow reds

1.) 28 Nov 2014 20:36:19
You do realise that sight is dominated by Abu's just like most of the media in this country. Don't believe a word of it.

So Malcom is supposedly being offered to spurs and arsenal according to sly. I wouldn't mind him coming to us could solve our rw position and he is left footed so can cut inside. Anybody else reckon he would be a good addition wan-bissaka and malcom on our right would enable us to actually use that side of the pitch to attack.

1.) 01 Jul 2019 16:19:02
Love malcom. Would be a top signing but can’t see it happening.

2.) 01 Jul 2019 17:49:30
Could he play centrally?

3.) 01 Jul 2019 17:51:29
Has he done much since moving to Barcelona?

4.) 01 Jul 2019 18:57:41
Nice Mort.

5.) 01 Jul 2019 18:59:36
Has he done much ever?

6.) 01 Jul 2019 20:40:26
You mean in the middle Mort? 😂.

21 May 2019 23:57:22
Ed if you have time could we get a player profile on Dayot Upamecano as he looks a good up and coming defender big strong quick and a tad cheaper then other options we have been linked with.

{Ed001's Note - I have added him to the list for you m2k.}

1.) 22 May 2019 06:35:40
Thanks Ed 👊.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome, good excuse to watch him and see how he has progressed.}

2.) 22 May 2019 12:31:56
Ed I forgot all about Keisuke Honda, and I've just seen he's only 32. Feels like he's been playing for 20 years.

{Ed001's Note - I thought he was older as well.}

11 May 2019 11:56:21
Goodbye Ander thanks for all you have done for the club, shame you are leaving us when times are hard at the club, not sure if it was for money, Ole has told you that you will not be a first name on the team sheet going forward or whatever the reason, but I wish you luck going forward.

1.) 11 May 2019 14:29:29
Times have been hard for a while, to be fair. Not like our position just suddenly collapsed, and he upped sticks.

27 Jan 2019 20:58:56
Sly sports reporting that Marcelo may be available, what's people's thoughts on him personally I feel could be a good buy at a reasonable price to compete with Shaw for LB position.

1.) 27 Jan 2019 21:33:57
Personally don’t think the way to solve our defensive issues is to sign a player who has marginal interest in defending.

2.) 27 Jan 2019 21:34:20
If he’s available it’s a no brainer. Shaw has done well to get back in contention but he lacks that bit of quality in the final third for me. His crossing isn’t great and I can’t remember if he’s got an assist. I think he needs to be challenged. Marcelo is up there with the best especially attack wise. Would flourish in this side.

3.) 27 Jan 2019 22:07:36
He will go to Juventus. Makes no sense coming to us unless we require someone who will want a warm climate, dive around a bit and do a few fancy flicks. I will do it for a smidgen of the cost.

4.) 27 Jan 2019 22:08:59
No way jose in my opinion for many reasons:

1.) real madrid will ask for an outrageous fee when they find out we are interested.

2.) marcelo will want ridiculous wages that could be used better elsewhere.

3.) Schweinsteiger, di maria, sanchez and falcao are reasons plenty enough to not go for a player that has been discarded by a top tier club. The motivation wouod not be there.

5.) 27 Jan 2019 23:17:23
Top player on the decline, smacks of a Woodward signing.

6.) 28 Jan 2019 05:33:07
Shaw will keep improving.
He is getting continuous game time after few years.
Moreover, a settled team will help him to get a better understanding with the rest of the team.

7.) 28 Jan 2019 07:20:56
This is true, don't get me wrong I like the fact Shaw is proving a lot of people wrong, but at the same time he needs someone to rotate/ compete with him so he does not get complacent again so I think Marcelo would be a good buy at a decent price for a few years anyway and allows us to concentrate on other areas that need addressing.

8.) 28 Jan 2019 09:59:25
Declining ageing player. Italy is perfect for him. Premier League really not let alone our club. Please no.

9.) 28 Jan 2019 11:55:12
He should be left back. in the changing rooms.

Not good enough for Real Madrid anymore apparently, so if we are aiming at that level then he isn't the kind of player we should be looking at.

Di Maria, Falcao, Schweinsteiger, Sanchez even Zlatan are players we shouldn't have gone after and players we wasted huge amounts of money on in terms of fees and wages, players who have destabilised our wage structure and are causing us problems even now with renewing contracts.

And for what? What vital input did they give our side that couldn't have been done just as well or better by someone younger, hungrier and on lower wages.

Are club has historically always done best with transfers when we sign the young up and coming players, give them the platform and confidence to take their game to the next level. These are the sort of players we should be going for in the future, not 30+ players looking for one final big money pay day.

13 Jul 2018 06:06:06
I see yesterday that Digne may be available for around the 18 mil mark. Surely an upgrade on what we currently have at lb and a cheap solution allowing us to spend elsewhere. thoughts.

1.) 13 Jul 2018 22:13:36
No better than Shaw or Young.

2.) 13 Jul 2018 23:07:20
Yeah but Young is 33 and Shaw is an unprofessional waste of space.

3.) 14 Jul 2018 06:43:48
Young is past his best although he has had a good season. Shaw I was full of hope that he could turn out to be one of the best but he has let us down and all the managers cannot be wrong about his poor attitude. Digne is still a very good lb and at only 24 has plenty of time to improve and in today's market 18 mil is a snip and will allow us to use more funds on other areas such as rb and rw.

Pickford 30 mil for an upcoming keeper. De gea the best in the world needs to be 100 mil +.

Let's just get rid of Pogba and Sanchez in a swap for Mbappe. I think we should go all out for him as he likes to drift out to the right and scores a ton of goals too something we need.

If we cannot sell him on because of his wage demands, maybe a loan for a season or 2 with the club loaning him from us paying a certain amount of his wages would be good for everyone. Technically we would lower our wage bill somewhat from this and maybe Sanchez can rediscover his best form playing abroad.

Malcolm, lemar or leon bailey. 3 lefties that play on the right and can cut in, also could go old school and swap wings to throw crosses into the box for lukaku as a plan b if things are not going to well.
