It's ok for everyone to moan about Rabiot/ Marko/ Sane etc and moan about not signing Anthony/ FDJ. But let's be fair who 6 months ago would have come up with Anthony Sesko or FDJ. Or for that matter who would have even wanted Martinez Or Eriksen.

It's OK to moan about everyone, but you have to come up with alternatives ones that are available and are willing to join a mid table side who let's be fair will probably struggle this year big time.

Sights have to be lowered it's going to be torturous times ahead.

Yes we need to look to the kind of players Liverpool did when they started under Klopp. Or that any side who aren't top tier but have ambitions of getting there.

It's been done many times by teams previously and will be done many times again.

I can remember Liverpool fans deriding Andy Robertson signing. Probably United fans laughing at them signing a cheap left back from Hull.

Not being able to compete for the best isn't a problem, not identifying the right players is.

United knew where they were at long before the summer, yet somehow they did not identify what the needed who they needed and simply got them.

They need to clearly identify where it went wrong and put it right immediately, if JM is out of his depth then goodbye and bring in someone who can do they job.

Newyorker.
It's just people ranting and making no sense imo.
We have owners that will only invest the clubs money and won't bankroll the club by investing from their own personal wealth. That's not going to change until they sell.
We have been totally mismanaged by the people they employed.
We don't know what financial restrictions the new management are working under, so ranting at them is pointless.
The manager is responsible for the futile fdj chase and refusal to move on.
We have a couple of promising signings a new manager and I'm sure some other signings that he will endorse.
Them it's over to him.
Nobody wants the players we have for sale.
It's not an easy situation.
Sesko I'm not 1 bit bothered.
Fdj was the managers choice personally I'm a big sms fan and would prefer him I hope we get him.
Rabiot is a good player. Baggage with his mother but not heard a peep from her since he signed for juve.
Him and sms would be miles better than Fred and mctom.
The manager needs a bit of time he needs to turn a lot of players over and it won't be done in 1 window or 2 or 3.
He has another turbulent few weeks ahead lots of noise to contend with. Supporters questioning him after a game is just bolloxollogy.
If we see improvement on the pitch throughout the season that's a great start.
He has to pick this team up not from the floor but from the basement.
Without a sugar daddy to bankroll him.
If he begins to get it right on the pitch lots of the other noise goes away.

The lack of plan or seriousness from the club is shocking.

We just had a pathetic season last year and it looks like the club haven't prepared for the transfer window.
This constant dithering has already cost us 3 points.

Why wait till the last 2 weeks and sign random players?
As Ed said these lot are truly AMATEURS.

4.) 09 Aug 2022 19:23:22
If you want to know the reality of our situation listen to Solhekol’s comments on Sky Sports. This Club is set up for failure from top to bottom from the absent, disinterested owners, the incompetent CEO and Director of Football to the entitled, spoilt, lazy, egotistical, useless players that disrespect the shirt with their gutless displays and are a disgrace to the memory of those that lost their lives representing this great football Club pursuing sporting excellence and the progression of the English game.

5.) 09 Aug 2022 21:49:59
Stop talking sense Ken, no room for that sort of thing on here, we are doomed, there is no hope, let's all give up after one game under Ten Hag.

6.) 10 Aug 2022 00:59:16
I’d rather stick pins in my eyes than listen to Solkehol, absolute tosser saying anything for clicks.

7.) 10 Aug 2022 04:59:03
Agree gds2, absolute joker of a fella! Knows nothing about anything! Best part of transfer window closing is he disappears for 6 months.

8.) 10 Aug 2022 07:15:13
How on earth anyone can take notice of him is beyond me…oh yeah I forgot he done so much in football, played/ coached/ managed/ run a club…oh no wait he done none of that, just another opinion, same as anyone on here, but Sky give him a bigger platform to spurt his opinions!

9.) 10 Aug 2022 08:21:13
Yeah but he has a cool foreign name so he must know what is happening in football on the continent ?.

09 Aug 2022 13:38:16
Ok we were poor, most performances were poor

Ten Haag was also very poor. poor line up, Tac tics all wrong, looked a bit lost on the touch line to me, if as you all say they did not do what he told them, I did not see him trying to change too much. let's hope he learns quickly because I think he got a rude awaking to the premier!

Maybe he also realised that keep looking at all his old players they won't be good enough too!

Hopefully he fast learner, because he got that first game all wrong, yes players were poor but he shares some blame IMO.

1.) 09 Aug 2022 13:47:14
ten hag was very poor?

ffs her we go already.

i don't even know why I'm commenting on this post tbh

but ill entertain it,

he didn't change it? well for starters he changed Erickson and dropped him back in the center put Ronnie up top then made 3 attacking changes late on to try and change the outcome.

unfortunately he has no part of the shocking defending we have to just face the facts these players well some of them are just pants.

and until they are replaced this results will keep happening. but not 1 bit of that result is on the manager.

2.) 09 Aug 2022 14:14:40
Not 1 bit of that result down to him! You need to take of the specs, the line up to start was totally wrong, tell me exact point of waiting 6 mins to bring on Ronaldo, how on earth did Sancho and Rashford stay on! He was lucky it was not more of an embarrassment, McTom should have been sent off, Martinez gave away a pen.
Would Pep or Klopp have waited even to 45 mins to change it…NO, would they have even started with that line up NO
As he not watched last seasons game to see how McFred perform, so why did it surprise him we would be overrun
That was totally no different from anything we watched last season, ok no one expected miricles but you should have been able to see something different, but same ol same ol, so no he is not faultless in that result.
I’m saying he needs to learn quickly.

3.) 09 Aug 2022 14:27:16
So start an unfit ronaldo who’s plays how many pre season games?

That team actually performed decent in pre season so they deserved to start,

We haven’t got an abundance of midfielders if you haven’t noticed so weather we like it or not Fred and mctom had to play, martial was injuried which made him have to play either Bruno or Erickson as a false 9 as ronaldo wasn’t fit.

Varane isn’t fit half the time, Bailey is a loose cannon and Linder is poor.

He also took off sancho Fred mctom and Bruno when he tried going for it towards the end. We can only make 5 subs

Vdb is no better than Fred and mctom neither should be in the team but this is what we have, until we get players in who are better we have to put up with it.

But I would say you need to get a grip if you me telling me the manager was at fault.

4.) 09 Aug 2022 14:46:14
Newyork, Pep or Klopp would also wait to change it.

Pep often makes no subs in a game even when his side is losing and not playing well. Liverpool were very poor by their standards at the weekend and their first subs were 6 mins into the 2nd half which is funnily enough the same time it took to bring on Ronaldo.

I agree the team selection could have been better and that is down to Ten Hag but to say he didn't change it is incorrect.

5.) 09 Aug 2022 15:38:13
It seems we have another troll, we seem to be awash with them at the moment.

6.) 09 Aug 2022 16:00:56
AJH… what I’m a troll because don’t share same opinion as you! And virtually every ex footballer/ pundit says you start Ronaldo and see how long you get not the other way round what we done, every ex professional said it was wrong to start Eriksen where he did, yet you know best and because someone don’t agree, there a troll! The intelligence amazes me!

7.) 09 Aug 2022 17:22:51
No, because you're slagging off the Manager after 1 game.

Heres a question for you. How effective was Ronaldo came on?
He was anonymous.

8.) 09 Aug 2022 17:33:24
I’ve heard a number of pundits saying we were spot on not to pick Ronaldo, he has hardly had a pre season. The martial injury unfortunately changed the plans.

9.) 09 Aug 2022 17:42:46
Spot on Bolger.

10.) 09 Aug 2022 17:55:26
It’s not slagging off the manager it’s highlighting mistakes, oh so we did not look much better when Ronaldo come on then, let’s blame Ronaldo for Rashford can’t finish his assist! Let’s blame Ronaldo for trying Eriksen as a false 9, if it was not Ronaldo starting it needed to be a striker, even a youngster, or Amad or Pellestri we are no City that can play with a false 9
Why was Ten Haag surprised that McFred would play like that, why was he surprised that McGuire would struggle pushing up! He should have known all this from watching last years videos.

So it’s pointing out faults not slagging off, hopefully he learns from it, that’s what I’m saying, but to think he had no responsibility in any of that is utter boll—x…. If you can’t see that well!

11.) 09 Aug 2022 17:57:08
Does EtH have to dance to Ronaldo tune? No. I am glad he didn't start, I would have played mctominay there before ronny if I had to. I assume EtH had decided starting was not an option.

12.) 09 Aug 2022 23:28:07
New Yorker let’s blame ten hag for ronaldo not showing up to work as well sure.

Even Rabiot on his own is a upgrade on either one of McFred, so what’s the problem, in fact could play his Mum alongside him and be better the both of McFred individually and as a pair.
It’s a Ten Haag request so I don’t see the problem, it’s not exactly last minute purchase still 3 weeks to go for that to happen!

Sorry let’s not let facts get in the way!

It’s ok to give out but not take back. very immature, it’s about opinions… I would 100% say Gerrard is still better then Milner or Henderson and probably Keita too, but of course Xhaka would be much better!

{Ed014's Note - goodbye yet again.

How do you honestly know De jong don’t want to come, and Rabiot is a cry baby, you know nothing of the circumstances of either player apart from some paper clippings and you tube videos.

Ten Haag clearly wants so you have to trust his judgment

I’m not saying Neves is not a good player, but I’m saying perhaps Ten Haag don’t think he suits him and Rabiot will do a better job…

Clearly you know more then all the managers out there, maybe you should tell them all that Neves is available and such a great player and would suit all your styles. go get him just in case they have missed something!

Who cares what kit is, long as the players inside those kits can win!

But least it’s a new thing to moan about I guess, let’s blame that on……. oh yeah Arnold can be responsible for that one!

All sorts could be dug up on virtually anyone in all walks of life, let alone millionaires at 20 odd with huge amounts of time on there hands, I’m not sure you can judge much on what you read and see on You Tube, that’s just plain ridiculous…
I’m not overwhelmed by Ten Haag signings or his hopeful signings, but if that’s what he thinks is required you have to go with it, but you can’t defend Ten Haag and then give abuse to Murtough and Arnold, there all new in situ so have to be given the same opportunities to prove themselves or not, if this time next season we finished 8th and still in same boat then they all go, but until then we have to trust the judgement of those in the positions to do something about it.

I agree he would, but would also walk into yours too…and if we’re honest would probably walk into Liverpools too…… but I’m not sure where that was even mentioned!

Newyorker

{Ed014's Note - unfortunately he wouldn’t walk into either of those midfields.

You mentioned it with your snide comment about Arteta as a player and a manager.
