Hello Ed002, I hope your well.

I've seen u mention athletico are worried about losing Koke in the summer, I was wondering what clubs are interested and if United are one of those clubs, obviously barca are out of contention this summer and Real M would I'm guessing struggle to strike a deal with there city rivals.

I remeber u hinting Pogba to Chelsea is possible this summer I think, therefore it may not be feasible to buy the both. City are alrealdy getting punishments from ffp.
Would that leave just bayern us (and I'm guessing we would have to sell to due to ffp), arsenal and psg(who as well will have to sell) that may be able to strike a deal?

Just curious more than anything

Chris the REDman

{Ed002's Note - I answered this the other day for you. Chelsea are interested in Koke still.}

1.) 17 Jan 2015 12:55:07
I'm sure if a player like Koke becomes available we will have interest in him. Our shortlist will be full of players of his age, quality and talent. We are one of the biggest clubs in the world so I'm sure we will be keeping tabs on these types of players, whether we can outmatch other clubs financially for them our match the players ambitions is a different story.

{Ed002's Note - No, that has not happened. You think that MU just jump ad hoc at any player available and buy them. Ridiculous.}

2.) 17 Jan 2015 13:48:28
I don't think that at all ED. I think that United are a team that will keep tabs on very good players in the way that all big clubs do, which doesn't seem ridiculous in my book.

{Ed002's Note - You have a very naïve view of the game then.}

3.) 17 Jan 2015 14:02:26
Its usually the players that are interested more in the bigger clubs such as ourselves. We are not the ones going round begging for the players to sign. We have targets and its simple as that.

Well it's nearly the end of the year, I normally wait another week, but since it's an exciting weekend ahead I thought I'd post now the top 5 list of posters imo who have been excellent this year, done it for the last 2 years so here we go.

In 5th place is Mick1, I know he ain't been posting much in the second half of the year but his posts from Jan to about July we're top draw, a very knowledgeable person and one I always look for on the page.

In 4th place is AJH, always a consistent poster and doesn't let his emotions write a post, a flaw quite a few of us are guilty of.

In 3rd is jred, opinions are everything in football and although many have disagreed with him he stays very consistent in his views and for that I applaud u my friend.

In 2nd is GDS, ahhh the glass half full man :) honestly though it's posters like him and jred that can at times keep this page active during downfalls in posts due international football etc, some may take him wrong but I can honestly say he is a top guy.

And in 1st place, well it has to be for redman( no not me lol), u have been great this year mate and put your neck on the chopping board many times I.e moyes, and I have to say u have been rarely wrong. Your analysis is up there with the best on here too mate, keep it up, a big thumbs up.

As always special mentions for, fresh, HB(Harold lol), deeps, syd, no mid, beast, Mumbai, programmer, dodgy etc all you guys have been great and of course this is just my opinion.

I would also like to take this time to really thank the eds, especially bond/04/01/02 who have to really put up with a hell of a lot of crap and do so without much moaning :).

Also ed01 I think u deciding to post a lot more has been a great idea mate the work u and ed33 are doing to improve the site is only making this already great site better.

Ed002 as always your knowledge is 2nd to none and thank u very much for sharing what u can.

Bond LOL u are a top bloke mate and along with ed25 provide great witty banter across the pages.

Ed04 love u to lol :)

One more thing I see we have a influx if new posters to the page and I'd just like to take this opportunity to say welcome to the mad house lol.

Anyways all u regular posters keep up the amazing work.

CTR out.

Chris the REDman

{Ed002's Note - Thanks for the efforts Chris.}

1.) Top post

2.) Well done Chris, Merry Christmas to you and your family. That goes to the Eds and everyone else too.

{Ed001's Note - thanks all and cheers CTR, not just for your posts across all the sites but also for your ideas, you may support the wrong team but underneath it all you are not all bad really!}

3.) Thanks Chris, great post and much appreciated comments. Delighted you put me above jred, he must be fuming ;)

All the best to you and the family and hope the little one has a great Christmas!

4.) Brilliant post. A nice surprise to read this after a cracking win today

5.) Thanks guys, wot a weekend I must say, gds don't let your head grow to big mate it was very close, u just pipped it.

6.) Thanks CTR
I have lived through 44 years since my first OT visit and wish this method of social media had been around in the seventies onwards

7.) I agree read man his number one for me . Seems to know what his on about . 😜

8.) I Can not believe I forgot steviek lol!!!

Sorry Steve mate lol!

9.) 15 Dec 2014 02:56:57
Thanks CTR. I look forward to your holiday ratings! I know i haven't been around all that much, med school has been tougher than i expected when compared to pre med and I've had some family deaths so I've been travelling a bit.

I really miss the banter though, and i'm glad this page is still going strong 6 years in.
I hope the wee lad and misses redman are all right and looking forward for these holidays.
A word for the oldish posters who have disappeared like Percy, Kloot or whatever he goes by, ngian, and our mascott Zee.

Last but not least, a big thanks for the Eds who keep this page alive with all their hardwork and dedication. Especially Ed002, Ed004 and Edd007. We really appreciate your hardwork

10.) That was the best acceptance speach for a 5th place I've heard Mick1 :)

Thanks buddy

11.) 31 Dec 2014 04:18:47
You're dead to me.

Nah, not really :)

Better to be an afterthought, than not thought of at all, as someone wise once said.

Actually, I just made that up to console myself.

Hope you and the family are well, mate, and a Happy New Year to all of you :)

Ed02 if you're about can u confirm reports about Adnan signing a 5 yr contract or if its close?
Thanks {Ed002's Note - I think that the previous update I gave you is still true. There have been discussions; there is no deal; there is interest from elsewhere; it is not "close"; it'll likely get figured out in favour of the club in the not too distance future.}

Ok ill be the first to say it,
Ronaldo was seen in Bournemouth last night, word is he is having a medical ;-) why else would he be there?

Chris the REDman

1.) Well, have to say, this is getting worrying from our point of view, it now seems we've wasted too much time trying to put a package together for him and fair play to Bournmouth, they've taken advantage and begun talks with him, where will it end?!lol

Charla

2.) Yes, it can't be anyting else ;)

3.) A friendly with Bournemouth which Madrid won 6-0 perhaps?

4.) Real Madrid played a friendly with Bournemouth last night Ronaldo scored twice!

Barnes85

5.) He was there with madrid playing a match

6.) Hear he is signing for Bournemouth with 99% ownership of the club in return :)

Shahram

7.) Err, don't you read the papers. He was playing for Madrid in a friendly against Bournemouth.

8.) Seems that humour is lost on many.

MDJ

9.) Relax folks, just a little bit of levity/ sarcasm. Nobody really believes he is signing for Bournemouth.

10.) ! People actually thought this was a serious post?! Christ on a bike!

11.) Ha

Too many Americans on here?

DanW

12.) This is really happening, part of the agreement was the friendly match they played as Madrid have identified Bournemouth as having great potential to market themselves. Ronaldo has a caravan down there (2005 6 birth tourer, its a beaut!)and loves playing bingo at the club house. Only sticking point is Marc Pugh won't give up his No. 7 shirt but Ronaldo's agent doesn't think it's a deal breaker.

Jiameuk

13.) Madrid played Bournemouth in a friendly last night RM won 6-0

14.) Ha, so it's got nothing to do with the fact that Real Madrid just played Bournemouth, beating them 6-0?!

15.) What has it come to when some people believed this.

RRED7

16.) Humour mustn't be some people's strong point lol.
Redpaul

17.) Wind 'em up & reel 'em in!
Blimey. :/

18.) This is amazing news. The way I see it, is that it gives us an 'in' to get ronaldo after all. He'll play a few months at bournemouth, realise that he is 33years to young to live there and then we can step in an rescue him in the Jan window.

I pray this all comes off. We need such great news. Thanks for the original post!

mikee

19.) Laughing at all the reposnses, think he was well aware why he was there!

20.) It's a shame to see your humour wasted on so may CTR

21.) Good god people. I know its hard to get sarcasm across in internet posts but it was pretty obvious.

Dan

22.) If brains were gunpowder, you lot couldn't blow the top of your green and gold bobble hat off.
The Juicer

23.) I love that people were actually getting a little angry at this as well haha I thought it was funny

24.) Thought the original post was funny, but the replies are so much better.

25.) Lol come on guys! Its sarcasim ;-)

26.) What an obvious place for a manchester club to conduct their medicals - away from their worldclass medical facilities and 250-odd miles from home.

Bournemouth is nearer Paris than Manchester, numbnuts. Wait, maybe PSG do THEIR medicals in "the medical epicentre of Europe" (or Bournemouth as it's also known). {Ed004's Note - You obviously didn't get the sarcasm from the post I'm not sure how you didn't get it from the replies}

Hi guys,

Sorry been away for a while had some family stuff to sort out (still is not all sorted as of yet).

What a great result at the weekend hey? taking the first half away from the post the second was decent, these games have always been hard to manage, and that's now 3 in a row we have now dispatched against Liverpool without to much fuss, does that say more about them or us, I guess that's in the eyes of the fans?

Seeing Blind excelling in the CB role is really good to see too, I think that's 2 motm's in 5 games for him now.
In all games except Swansea he has looked the business imo, he has the football brain to keep himself in position and not be done for speed, and the passing ability to bring it out from the back.

Shaw is improving every game too and along with Darmian I think we have 2 very very good fullbacks.

Smalling is maybe now showing signs of kicking on although there is still that lingering thought in the back of my head that this could just be good form and not the progression we hoped for, but I am feeling more and more confident with him in the team over the last 6 months.

Basti was a real calming influence on the team, and Carrick gave everyone a gentle reminder that he still has a big role to play for us too.

Herrera is brilliant and I hope that he has now cemented his place in the starting 11 for the foreseeable future.

Mata and Depay seem to be the most at risk in this team atm, Mata just doesn't seem to thrive on the RW and seems to wonder off into the middle to much and its only Darmian's intelligence of knowing when to go and stay that has not seen this area exposed me thinks.

Depay will improve that I have no doubt of, he seems to be trying a bit to hard at the minute to impress and i'm sure once a bit of form comes his way he will flourish.

I'm so made up or Martial, the boy had all the pressure on his shoulders for having the audacity to force united to pay £36m (at least) for him.
I hope this will be the start of something quite amusing for the next few years after some of the stuff I have seen the press writing about him.

All in all we done what was expected and beat them. Next in the prem is a real test in Southampton away, this has always been a bogey ground for us but I hope we continue our winning ways.

Chris the REDman

{Ed007's Note - Hopefully you get whatever the problems are sorted out, take care buddy.}

1.) 14 Sep 2015 19:02:36
Mata needs to play in the number 10 role and felliani should never start a game especially as a striker.

2.) 14 Sep 2015 21:00:40
I agree mate , especially about Daley Blind. And even the fact that he struggled against Swansea , I can guarantee everyone on here that Gomis will give many "big name" centre backs a torid time this season.
He is a big guy , very fast , very direct and very strong. Of course , he will not be on top form every week , but when he is the very best CB's in the league will have their hands full.

3.) 14 Sep 2015 23:09:01
Hope everything works out for you and your family Chris. Can't disagree with any of your write up, good post.

Good morning ed from rainy Blighty.

I again listened to your new podcast well done on that, I was wondering since its in the pipeline to get a few sites to have one of it would be possible to maybe have us start our own one?

I don't mind getting the stuff together and could post u the file before it's put up obviously, but I think this is something that could really take off.

If the answer is yes, is there any posters out there that would be interested in coming on the first one?

I would write a running order of topics with the interested ppl. I just think this could really work well for the site.

If u don't think it's doable yet that's cool it's just an idea mate.

Many thanks
CTR

Chris the REDman

{Ed001's Note - that would be great mate, I was keeping you in mind when I had a chance to speak to you about it and put something together for you to do it. If you can put it together, then that would be great mate. If you use the contact form, unless you already have my direct email addy, then I will sort out with you a way to do it.}

1.) 20 Aug 2015 09:25:59
Brilliant idea!

2.) 20 Aug 2015 10:11:53
Brilliant mate, so anyone interested?

Do u have my email matey? If not I'll send u an email using the contact form.

{Ed001's Note - I don't, Ed033 is the one who has access to those sorts of things so it would be easier if you sent me your details through the contact form.}

3.) 20 Aug 2015 10:14:27
If it needs a dose of positivity I am your man!

4.) 20 Aug 2015 10:26:24
Great idea, I'd be interested. Just wondering, would it be posted to YouTube or somewhere different?

{Ed001's Note - it goes on our football-news-views.co.uk site, linked on this site, will be on iTunes and on youtube as well.}

5.) 20 Aug 2015 12:31:27
GDS,
I'd love to host a podcast with you and beast on it at the same time.

6.) 20 Aug 2015 12:31:30
I would have a go, too. Except I have no idea what you're all talking about.

7.) 20 Aug 2015 13:36:57
I would love to tame the beast, I bet he's a pussy cat really.

19 Aug 2015 16:31:35
Wow is this really happening lol, over Pedro? Really?
Are people that desperate for a signing that there losing the shizer over Pedro? PEDRO!!

if he was at Betis would people think he's still worth over €30m?

Lol tonight will be fun!
Oh and we won last night and I was thoroughly entertained too.

Just in case people forgot :)

Chris the REDman

1.) 19 Aug 2015 17:03:45
Hopefully he will play more like that against Newcastle saturday, but i think he will reintroduce the shackles.

2.) 19 Aug 2015 19:39:11
Chris

I am more concerned about why we get ourselves into umpteen situations like this year on year in the last few years than actually him going to chelsea or anywhere else being realistic that he would have been a quality addition but not a game changer for us.

There is something quite strange about our transfers which bring a lot of unnecessary publicity which can build up steam when things don't go well on the pitch for us. Why the distraction and why the long drawn out sagas?

I think Will sees his game time limited
here and will prob move on yes.

Its a shame and if it was not for his bad injury and Wilson's continued progression he may well of got some game time.

Shame really as I had quite high hopes for the lad 18 months or so ago.

I know GDS or even worse listen to god awful pundits and get there 'analysis' from that!

RJ, the season is only 5 games old mate! sheesh, the guys went and had a word with LVG told what they want and it seems have been given the license to play more attacking.

But hey u keep looking back at the 4 games before where your point stays relevant mate.

lol Sam, I agree.

They actually are getting some decent games now but they seem to think dumping a load of ex pro's together is the right idea.

The worrying thing is Savage is prob there best pundit (other than hoddle when he's on) and that says it all.

At one point Hargreaves actually said PSV didn't play well tonight, they got very lucky and didn't deserve that and the very next sentence he went on to say how we made them look decent.

There keeper not worked? Did u watch the game beast, no we didn't force him to make what u would call any 'wolrdie's' but in fairness the lads actually had some very good chances that on another day would of resulted in a few goals?
