Can't see why we need another striker or AM
Greenwood will be back. Adidas haven't a problem with it allegedly
What we do need is a defence. It's a strong squad up front. Seriously lacking in defence. And has been for years.
Onana has highlighted it already. De gea knew it. And walked away.
Moving forward Utd need to strengthen in those areas.
So, who should Utd buy/ promote to fill the gaps.

I think our defence is fine if first choice CBs are fit, if we start getting Maguire and Lindelof as first choice it become an issue, particularly now we have Onana ball playing. I think we need a first choice RB as I’m unconvinced on Dalot and AWB as much as they’ve improved and we need Varane cover, seems to be Lindelof for now, but our defence lately is fine. DDG May have known it but he was as culpable as anyone back there.

Where to start. De Gea knew it and walked away, complete tosh. The club decided they need a change, it was the club that decided, not DDG. Onano has highlighted it already, based on what exactly? Shouting at Maguire? You do know we had more clean sheets than any other team last year right?
Our issue last year was an inability to take our chances, put simply, we didn't score enough goals.
And finally, if Adidas think it's OK for Greenwood to come back then that's all fine and dandy eh?
They call the close season the silly season, I can see why.

Lots of assumptions in that post, even before we get to the morality of bringing Greenwood back into the fold, or the potential backlash and distraction to our season that it would likely cause.
Firstly, the club are yet to make a final decision. He might be sold or sent out on loan.
Secondly, you are assuming he will be the same player when he returns (at whatever club that might be) . He has had a long time off, at his age that is key development time as well. We also have no idea of his mental state and readiness to return. It might take him months to get back to where he was, or he might not ever be able to get back to that level. Especially if the crowd gives him stick and he isn't strong enough to take it.
While there is a massive question as to whether morally it's the right thing for the club to do.
Then you have the potential it has to be a distraction to the team. Players might feel uncomfortable. I know of at least one player in our current first team squad who grew up in an abusive house watching his mother get abused. How will that player feel having to train and play with Greenwood? It could undermine the good team spirit EtH has done wonders to create. While the media will also make a fuss, and that could impact the players.
Is it worth upsetting the apple cart for one player?

I think our defence is fine for this season, but we'll need a RB next season.
Dalot/ AWB
Varane/ Lindelof (who is a good CB btw)
Lisandro/ Evans
Shaw/ Malacia
That's not bad at all, good in fact.
What we need before defenders is a striker who guarantees goals and young backup for Cas, as well as prioritising outgoings.
Defence can wait!

Not commenting on MG anymore.
As for defense, all teams will concede goals. They will make the odd error, they will concede worldies that are practically unavoidable.
Good teams score enough goals that it doesn't matter if they concede the odd goal. Last year we struggled to score 1 goal in a game, so conceding meant dropping points.
We need more goals. Which means the team need to start trying to create goals for their team mates, instead of drilling shots from 25 yards into a cluster of stationary defenders, or better still 15 yards over the bar.

I’m far from a Henderson fan but could he make an impression if he isn’t sold before the tour.
Onana is clear but Henderson can play out and was seen as above Pickford, Pope and the lad at Arsenal.
Might allow Utd to delay or reduce investment in the short-term for GK with the guy from Feynoord.

One of Hendersons biggest probelms is he understands a keeper has to have a lot of self confidence and a touch of arrogance - he has plenty of both but he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is- mid table team keeper.

Henderson has been disruptive and when given a chance looked well dodgy. He is not the answer.

Henderson is not good enough to be first choice keeper at United. He is available and the fact that forest are the only team we hear he is going to says it all.

Henderson burnt the bridge with that interview at the start of the season. he's not even that good. Forest would have been relegated with him in net. We have a sister company at work based in Notts and they are all forest season ticket holders and say the same.

The interview didn't do him any favours. However, I suspect he really burnt his bridges in January when he refused to return to the club after a request from EtH unless he was guaranteed to be first choice.
EtH at that time had realised DDG couldn't play the way he needed his keepe to play. It was an opportunity for Henderson and instead of taking it he threw it back in the managers face by making a demand that no manager can sensibly make. No one is guaranteed first choice, even Ronaldo at the time.
I fully believe that if Henderson had returned in January then he'd have finished the season as our No.1. I doubt whether that would have changed the managers plans to bring in a new keeper this summer. But he'd have given himself a shout.

He’s not been charged. I heard the recording and it wasn’t pretty. But technically he’s innocent, won’t stop the fans giving him dogs abuse,
