Feels like a relief for all parties involved. 30m is more then I thought we'd get considering his form and our selling record.

West Ham are a perfect team for him as they sit deep with no high line.

Not right for this system but all the best to him.

Hopefully we can get Amrabat in to give us decent cover for Casamiro.

Has anybody actually watched a lot of Amrabat?

I’ve not seen much of him. But did see a report recently that he’s not at the level for a top club.

Not saying that report is right, but I’ve not seen him play so have no idea.

Well Barcelona tried to sign him. He had an exceptional WC and he bossed the Europa final so much that WHU want him.

I don't see him being at MU for long. Maybe a couple of years, but Mainoo will be ready then.

I watched him during the world cup both live matches and on TV. I would dare to say he was the best defensive midfielder in the world cup and similar to cas can play a great ball forward when he wins possession.

He was carrying an injury and had his hamstring taped up quite heavily but even with that he was outstanding. Not watched him at Fiorentina except the Europa league final and he was better than rice in that game. just my opinion.

He may end up being a greta signing.

He was carrying a hamstring injury and remember he was taped up pretty heavily, which was even more impressive and hard nose warrior type player. He also has similar ability to cas in terms of finding the front guys with a good pass when he wins back possession.

Watched the Europa league final and he was better than rice for most of the game imo. Not watched any of his games in the Italian league.

Of course the Pl is a different animal but can't see us going wrong if the transfer fees being reported are true. No idea on his wages but guessing it will be reasonable.

Fallguy, I’ve seen a fair bit of Amrabat including live last season. I think he’s being overrated on here in all honesty. He’s not a bad player, and cover is about where I’d place him. He keeps things simple, but sometimes seems to lack concentration.

He did indeed have a great WC, but we’ve seen better players fail at big clubs after a standout WC.

It will be a solid but not spectacular signing, and the mooted £30m will be about right in this market. I wouldn’t compare him to either of McFred because they play different positions.

We do need cover for Casemiro which he will provide, but don’t expect him to be at that level.

All in all it makes sense because we are short in that position and we can’t keep playing more attacking midfielders in a DM’s position.

I should caveat that by saying, Florentine fans were largely disappointed with their manager and style of play last season. Although that sounds silly as they reached two finals (and should’ve beat West Ham), certainly there were calls for the managers head at the start of the year, before they put a bit of form together. They have some decent players but it didn’t quite happen for them. Ikone probably encapsulate how their season went.

Be very surprised if MCtom wants to go to WHU. Newcastle possibly but a team fighting relegation last year I doubt it.

I agree with Ahmad. Arambat was outstanding in the World Cup and probably the best defensive mid I saw in it. He’ll be too good to sit on the bench. Him next to Casemiro with Martinez behind would be an absolute nightmare for any opponents.
