Vitinha looks like he's off to psg its getting difficult to remain positive as a united fan at the moment press reports making us feel like were stuck staring at FdJ and not doing much about it.

I don't suppose you can give us any good news on the transfer front ed002? probably feels a bit more desperate than it is at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained where there is interest.}

Cheers ed its just frustrating i know its early in the window just feels like we get linked to a player and 2 days later he's signing for another team at the moment.

I was hoping you might have something on clubs were actually in discussions with for players i know it might not necessarily be that easy just hoping for something cheers anyway.

{Ed002's Note - That is not how it works. You want players signed and don't care who it is. Clubs wants the players they identify as targets.}

I get that i don't want the club buying for the sake of it, just been trying to keep positive and getting frustrated.

Thanks for all the info hopefully we get something (a target) done soon and ease the fans tension, so we don't keep asking u as many open uneasy questions.

Calm down a bit. Season’s not started yet. Judge at the end of the window.

Bit too much common sense for this site there Eric, not nearly enough panic!

Vitinha was never a target according to some reports, and the majority of us had never heard of him until 72hrs ago.
My only concern with the FDJ saga is that if he is the key signing for EtH, then why are we haggling over £10-£20 million, just get the deal done. Haggle over the 3-4 choice signings.

{Ed001's Note - surely you must have heard of him? He did spend a season at Wolves on loan recently.}

The in-laws are Baggies fans, Wolves doesn't exist in our household.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok. Must be difficult when United face Wolves then.}

@Eric79 the time to judge is when pre-season starts, not the start of the season. That date is beginning to loom large.

Vury good Ed001, gave me a nice little chuckle.

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate.}

Amazes me to see grown men (I assume most posters are adult males) whipped into a frenzy of pure panic, hatred and disgust buy the media about the fact commercial deals/ signings take time to get done. Utd will sign players - ultimately what does it really matter long term when they get done as long as they are. I think 12 Of the 20 premier league clubs are yet to do business, including Chelsea. And of those deals, very few are beyond loan to perm deals so far. City and Liverpool new strikers aside.

Ed2 has exposed there will be movement, and quite a bit I think by the look of it.

Jesus ye're like kids before Christmas. Calm down lads, get off the internet, go outside, kick a ball, listen to some birds. it'll happen when it happens and I think come the end of the transfer window you will all be quite happy with transfer business.

Rosspique that's a good post.
But I'm afraid you won't keep most people happy.
Eth is in the job a few weeks so much to sort out least of all player sales nevermind purchases.
Very comfortable with the state of play so far although I would have liked to see more action on the exit side.
Can't wait for the new season to start.

I am a bit disappointed that we haven’t done any business to be honest. Both City and the bin dippers have tied up their number 1 striker targets. Both Arsenal and Spurs, who I see as directly competing with us for 4th……. have identified players and strengthened accordingly.

We knew there was a massive rebuild required, both in terms of ins and outs. New gaffer has only just been put in place, that’s a fair one. But despite been run (still) by amateurs, there will have been meetings with scouting and recruitment and also with ETH. He himself will have done due diligence on the squad. They WILL have identified between them areas we need to strengthen and the players with which they wanted to do this. The sooner these players are brought in the better, there’s no benefit to dragging it out. The quicker you bed the players in and get everything settled the better.

So for me, it’s unacceptable that nobody has been brought in. If we just needed a tweak then fair one, but we need half a new squad!

And with FDJ…. if he’s the number 1 must have target of ETH and we are quibbling over 15 million quid………. joke.

18 Jun 2022 18:48:14
Fireman do you think 15 millions are not a lot of money? Some People want to pay whatever they ask in every transfer. That's no how things work i think.

18 Jun 2022 18:56:19
A bit tired of all the trolling of anyone who dares to be a bit impatient with our own inactivity / incompetence etc. Post and engage in the transfer banter, or be more reflective and tell yourself it will all be ok in a few months. Neither is right or wrong, we are all on the same side. I think.

18 Jun 2022 18:58:01
Some people say about us fans moaning about united not getting deals done because in the past we've messed about and missed out on targets or panick n brought the wrong players in on high wages! We should of gone n brought bissouma fir starters cheap really good midfielder with prem experience there's no guarantee de jong can handle the prem n for the price Barcelona want is silly money same old mistakes happening again in my opinion.

18.) 18 Jun 2022
18 Jun 2022 19:40:03
We should not have bought Bissouma in if our Manager DoF and scouts have not identified him as a target for whatever reason.

I would guess that some targets are simply not available this year but might be next. In that case you may be prepared to wait a year if you deem a certain target that important to you.

I remember Liverpool waiting for Virgil, that was the right move in the end.

We should not buy anyone just because they are available, we have to buy a player because the player is the right fit, if it means waiting a year so be it, if we get the right player who is the right fit.

19.) 18 Jun 2022
18 Jun 2022 20:14:03
Herrera……do I think 15 million is a lot of money?

Yes, but in the grand scheme of things no, seeing as we are paying a 37 year old 510k a WEEK. Get it done.

20.) 18 Jun 2022
18 Jun 2022 22:19:37
For me bissouma my opinion is exactly what's needed in our midfield he can play with the ball and without better them mcfred by miles and has the experience of the prem for a margin of what we paid for many players in the last few years!

21.) 19 Jun 2022
19 Jun 2022 01:33:59
So because we pay Ronaldo 30 millions a year we must overpay for De Jong or for everyone? What about Barcelona, who payed Griezman 45 (? ) a year, lowering their demands? Do you think it works this way?

22.) 19 Jun 2022
19 Jun 2022 07:09:35
Herrera………. Whilst I get your point about overpaying and been held to ransom……. FDJ is a player who ETH has come in and said we need to get in order to build a team round. It’s also a position you can argue that we’ve been weak in since Paul Scholes retired. By all means penny pinch on other deals, but with this one I feel paying 15 mil over the odds is justified.

23.) 19 Jun 2022
19 Jun 2022 16:07:22
I don't think ETH should be washing his transfer business in public saying he wants to build a team around FDJ. Or did he?
Has he openly said that in public? I doubt it, so you have no idea
He will be working very hard behind the scenes with his team to put deals together for the players he'd like. Timber, Anthony, Martinez, Onana. How many players do you think AJAX will let him take in one sitting? FDJ is probable and maybe 1 in from AJAX but but Give him a break . He knows what he wants, let him get on with it. He's got plenty of time.
