It occurred to me that a while ago it was strongly rumoured one of the main Glazers refused to allow Martial to be sold. I wonder if we are seeing it again with Bruno?

So clear yesterday how he should have been subbed, cannot play CM, lost their player for their goal, not focussed. For me he needs to be sold, yet it seems he just plays, every minute.

Bruno could be Amorims Achilles Heel if this carries on. The team will fail with Bruno CM.

Agreed, said it after the Arsenal game and highlighted further after Fulham. The Bruno factor will continue to be a talking point until we
1. Buy a new midfielder
2. Put faith in Mainoo and Kone
3. Play Bruno as a 10 to rotate with the other 10's
4. Sell Bruno

The way Amorim sets us up, and you saw it against Fulham, we are electric from the get go.
My two cents worth is, and he did this at Sporting to a degree, is that he is aiming to blow the opposition away inside the first 30mins with absolute intensity. Where this is falling down is we are not scoring, again!

If we scored first in both games, I think we are sat on 6pts.

But then we don’t play for the next 60 minutes? That’s ridiculous.

The downside to that blow them away plan is nobody in the team seems capable of scoring. It could just be bad luck, and it will change soon. I hope so with the amount of new players and money spent on that area.

Hard to judge as we’ve only seen about 40 minutes of play with a striker on the pitch. But from that little snapshot it seems not much has changed from last season, not a lot of service to the striker. Doesn’t matter if you have Sesko, Rasmus or Mbappe up top, if you don’t give them the ball in dangerous areas they can’t score. Hopefully he starts a striker against Grimsby and Burnley.

I honestly think Bruno would be ok in the middle if he had somebody better next to him. Somebody who can run, cover the gaps etc. just defend the middle. Then let Bruno do the passing etc. But I could be completely wrong.

But red man, that's not a Bruno problem, that's a selection problem. He is without doubt our best player, so don't stick him in at CM. Martial was a do nothing useless CF, Bruno has been nothing short of miraculous for us.

You really have it in for him.

Time stops for no one. The club either moves forward or keeps Bruno and goes backwards. Bruno is no longer that player. He gives the ball away, loses concentration as he did yesterday. It really is time to sell and probably this is the moment we find out if the club has the guts to make tough decisions that move the club forward or wallow in nostalgia and emotion by keeping Bruno so we can give him an emotional send off in two years. Are we a serious club or not?

Yes Eric, I said we stand still like statues after 30mins. expect better from you as you're normally quite a level headed fella on here.
Exactly Fallguy, the scoring is the issue, and sometimes you just need a little luck on your side.

A serious club would be playing our best player in his best position.

Nou

Like we did in the last two seasons and where did we finish? He is an uncontrollable liability at times, giving the ball away in terrible areas, giving fouls away in dangerous areas having run back because he was out of position. If he is our best player then it explains what our issues have been. Too many blind to it. Sell, sell, sell.

You don’t sell your best player
You don’t play your best player out of position
Ludicrous.

Your time stopped for him about 2 seasons ago and he continued to be brilliant ?

Wallow in Nostalgia? The man scored 19 and assisted 19 in one of our worst ever seasons, what are you talking about Redman? You're completely blinkered on Bruno for whatever reason. It's mental at this stage.

redman

You and your vendettas. You don't like Bruno and like to blame him for everything. he is our best player by a mile and has his flaws like many top players. The system sucks and making 9/ 10 players look like donkeys for it.

Nothing to do with vendettas! I'm fully with Red Man re Bruno and have been saying the same for quite some time. Bruno is a liability/ risk way too often.

Ahmad and co

I don’t do vendettas I watch games avidly and see where issues are.

Watch Fulham’s goal on Sunday, who watched the scorer make the run into our box and did nothing, didn’t bother tracking him? Wait to see what you make of it.

You must have been asleep watching games last year. Because without Bruno, we would have been in massive trouble.

German, Bruno didn’t track the runner. He tracks the runner properly they don’t score that goal.

This is not new. Bruno got himself out of position many times in the team structure in games gone by, had to run back to try to catch up and gave fouls away in terrible positions. He has been giving the ball away with errant passes, leading to counter attacks and goals.
Opposition pundits would be happy if he stays because we would lose the £100m to improve, keep the problem and if I was an opposition manager I would look to gain from the regular mistakes he makes, make players know and be really aware of the possession lost in difficult positions.

Instead of looking up stats, watch what he does in games. Yes can create, scores penalties but the problems he causes are not worth it. Why is no opposition club other than Saudi not banging on our door for Bruno?

The club need to be decisive, sell and get fresh blood.
