Ollie Watkins being linked again with Garnacho going the other way, would solve 2 immediate problems ?.

If Garnacho is going to be stubborn and dig his heels in for a move to an EPL club then Villa and Chelsea look like our only options.
Now personally I'd rather him go to Villa and we get Watkins, but I have a feeling he'll dig his heels in for a move to Chelsea and we might have to go a deal with them for Jackson.
Which I'm not against as I rate Jackson as a very good player. I just rate Watkins higher and he won't leave halfway through the season for the AFCON like Jackson would. Which given we will lose Onana, Amad and Mbeumo already ideally I wouldn't want to sign another key first team player who would also be heading off for 3-6 weeks during the season.

Can’t see Garnacho going to Chelsea. Why would they sign him? They already a bucket load of attacking players and are in talks for another with Xavi Simons.
If Chelsea did take him, I hope he enjoys watching them as that’s what he’ll end up doing most of the time.

Watkins is a much better fit for us. I think we will go for him regardless of where garnacho goes.

Let's say we swap Watkins for Garnacho at £50k. It's all profit for us. I'm sure Watkins will command a much higher salary than Garnacho's £2.5m. So n year 1 will see +£52.5m while we'll incur a salary of at least £7.5m + £10m in depreciation, so £17.5m a year for 5 years. Of course Garnacho thinks he's worth a lot more than he's paid right now.
We need a CF. Watkins, Mbuemo and Cunha managed 50+ goals between them last season. Watkins contributed 16 + 8 assists last year, and 19 +13 assists the year before. It'll be a much more fluid attack. Swaps are extremely rare. 2 players and 2 teams + agents make them tremendously complex. I can't see it happening but I'd go for it if it's a possibility. I will say the deal would probably make as much sense for Villa as it would for us, given their PSR situation. A more experienced and traditional manager like Emery is probably just what Garnacho needs at this point in his career.

I think Garnacho should be looking at Napoli. the owner has talked positively about him and I think the league would suit him. Seasoned manager who would knock a few of the issues out of him.
That being said I am coming round to the idea of a swap for Watkins . whether loan with option for a year or as new name has said a mutually beneficial price that helps both us and Villa out.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Graucho is looking to stay. He’s a young lad, has definitely been poorly advised and can see his career suddenly off kilter. United are working hard to get back on track with some good signings and it’s going to be a really interesting place to be for the next few seasons. Needs to bin family as management, if you can call it that, get his discipline sorted and get back on track with Rash gone and Sancho out of the picture he could do a lot worse than influences like Mbeumo to learn from.

Villa can't afford to sell as they need strikers.

I'd sell Garnacho in a heartbeat. He's itching to go and he's not good enough anyway. Too inconsistent with limited end product. Watkins too old for us to invest 50 to 60 million. Sesko is the player we need to sign.

Watkins is ideal for us. Not clear that Sesko has the movement needed. If we can get Watkins for Garnacho as a direct swap I'd take that.

I have watched sesko for a few years. He def has decent movement and is still young. Big jump from Leipzig to Utd and the premier league but I think worth the risk and his potential to. Improve has a far higher ceiling than eg Watkins who is virtually at his peak.

If it is Watkins or Jackson, it is the latter for me, attitude aside, he has the 'potential' to be exactly what we need. however. who is nurturing that potential?

Swaps rarely happen. Let's just focus on getting Garnacho (and his brother) out of the door first so we can decide on our terms the best signing the manager wants.
