First time posting here, would like to thank the eds for their time and effort.

I was wondering who we have interest in as a striker? With 002 saying that RVP might leave and the whole Falcao situation up in the air as to whether he stays.

Thanks in advance

Uvedoble

{Ed002's Note - Santos' Gabriel Barbosa continues to be of interest to Chelsea, Fiorentina and Manchester United. However, much is expected of him and there is an agreement between Santos and Barcelona that will be exercised in 2016 if he does not move beforehand - if he does I don't think it will be to Manchester. Do not be surprised by a bid for Benzema. Cavani is being offered around the clubs who have previously shown an interest. Surprisingly, rumours of Manchester United and Manchester City interest in Danny Ings are true. Kenedy remains of interest and if a deal can be done he would likely go on loan. Interest in Bakkali has gone completely. Mandzukic will be sold this summer as Atletico look to fund a bid for Cavani. Manchester City see Mandzukic as a replacement for Dzeko and it is a solution that suits all. "Apparently" (an agent's "apparently"), Manchester United and Arsenal remain interested. Maybe not.}

Any news on Benteke? No interest from us?

Out of all the strikers mentioned in the press I'd take Mandzukic or Higuain.

Didn't think I'd get a reply lol.

{Ed007's Note - Your answer to your undirected question is already in Ed002's answer, whether you choose to see it or not is a different matter.}

Why does bentekes name come up so much he's not united quality and would be a total waste of money.

4.) 07 May 2015 22:20:14
I'd take benzema all day

I'd like to ask people why they think that Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger will automatically start over Carrick? He was our best player rather consistently last year and although he's getting on a bit he can still play the majority of games.

I think it is more likely that Schneiderlin starts every game with either Carrick or Schweinsteiger in as the partner to him as they both won't play every game.

Who has said they will automatically start over Carrick?

You kind of answered your own question Uvedoble.

Bastian and Michael are a combined age of 63-64. They are going to be rotated with eachother to keep fitness levels up. don't forget we have CL football this year and we (hopefully) won't be out of the league cup as quickly. Carrick and Schweinstiger are both CL quality and will be rotated constantly. I love having three top quality CDM's :)

Further to this, Herrera is being looked over. It'll be a rotation of the 4 of them in my opinion as well as playing a couple of different formations where sometimes we will play a flat 3 in the middle and others where 1 or 2 will hold and the others push on.

Herrera is best suited to play ahead of a holding midfielder as generally his first instinct is to pass forward. My guess is in the big games we will have one holding and 2 slightly ahead of them as box to box midfielders. Herrera would be the best out of the 4 for the more advanced box to box role IMO but probably worst for the holding role as even though he gets his foot in, the others will be more disciplined in sticking to the more defensive role.

4.) 20 Jul 2015 13:32:23
The midfield three will be Schneiderlin and one of Carrick/Schweinsteiger holding with Herrera ahead.

Fresh that "should" be the midfield 3, but you never know with LvG.

I've heard rumours that we have an interest in Frasier Forster if De Gea leaves next summer, depending on whether he can prove his fitness once he returns from injury. Can anyone second this?

There will be a new flavour of the month in 12 months time I'm sure.
