Looks like Clyne has changed his agent and is now looking to stay at Southampton. His earlier agent was the one pushing him to join us apparently and he is now in talks to sign a new contract. Less Reed has said the talks have been very positive so far.
One we can strike off the list? Cancelo the next target for right back? Certainly hope it isn't Alves.

He will be joining us if we put a bid in but and they are just posturing. BTW we favour alves and I can see why, he is brilliant going forward.

in total agreement- alves will not be a good signing- Danilo or Darmian would be decent long bets but I suspect we will be linked with Coleman again and can see it panning out like the baines saga

Darmian, van der Wiel or Arias would be good options if Clyne decides to stay at Southampton.

I think alves will be the short term answer next season with maybe a younger understudy. He looked great against a good munich side and he's experience is what I think is needed. plus although his wages will be high he will be a free agent, he still has genuine pace and can get up and down the pitch for 90 minutes.
