Pellistri can't be sent on loan. He's been a positive every time I've seen him in preseason. He will provide an excellent option off the bench, be decent cover for injuries and he will excel in the lesser cup games to allow others to rest. What's everyone else's thoughts? Loan or keep?

I noticed, even before his goal, for a slight looking lad he's actually quite hard to knock off the ball. Uses his body well in holding the ball up. Showed good strength and balance for the goal. Tough when you've got him, Antony, Diallo and Sancho at times, all playing that position, but I've always liked him. I'd have him further along development wise than Diallo, who probably needs a premiership loan, and I prefer him to Sancho certainly, though I appreciate Sancho is more flexible in where he plays. Tough decision, but he usually impresses in the small cameos he gets.

Agree 100% Tim, we need to keep him and use him. I’d love to see the lad get more game time off the bench and in the cups, there’s a lot of potential there. The competition would help spur Anthony on too.

It's a really tough one. I agree he's shown he has something every time he's been on the pitch.

However, we have Rashford, Garnacho, Antony and Sancho all ahead of him in the wide positions. While Amad won't be able to go on loan due to his injury so will also be here at least until January.

Pellistri needs to be playing week in week out if he is to kick on and become a top player. Will he get enough game time at United? I doubt it.

Maybe the best solution is to get him a new deal then send him out on loan to an EPL/ Championship club until January where he can play every week in England.

Amad can stay until January, hopefully being able to play some games in November/ December.

Then EtH can make a decision in January. Keep Amad or loan him out. Bring back Pellistri or keep him out on loan.

I would move Sancho on if we could and use Pellestri there instead to backup Anthony. Diallo loan to premier leagze team. The both need game time and keeping them to sit third on depth chart is no good if that's the plan loan em.

I disagree, he needs to play, we should send him OK loan somewhere he's going to play and develop, but not to a relegation side. His spells at alaves weren't too good and probably set him back.

Fair point shappy however with our cf position only filled by martial and hojlund, one of whom is never available I can see rashford used in that position therefore freeing up a wide spot for someone like pellistri. Something I’m sure eth is mulling over as we speak lol.

As frustrating as sancho is, he does score goals at a pretty good rate for the amount of minutes he is getting. We can't afford to take his goals out of this squad at the moment, and I am certainly not his biggest fan.

Ive liked the look of Pellistri every time he's played would like to see him stay with the first team squad for now and see if he can emulate Garnacho.

I agree that despite all the fanfare about Diallo, that Pellistri looks more of a Premier league player at the moment. He looks more of a tougher cookie. He does probably need a loan move, but it has to be a Premiership club, he played at the World Cup for heavens sake so he needs a top level club to see what he’s made of. Same as Diallo when he’s back. Whether we like it or not, Antony and Jadon will probably contest that wide berth. Got a sneaky feeling we might see a different Sancho this year.

If Sancho is going to be used as a false 9 option and we can shift Martial, then I’d keep Pellistri.

LW - Rashford or Garnacho
RW - Antony or Pellistri
CF - Hojlund, Rashford or Sancho.

Love Pellistri’s work ethic but just seems to lack that final bit of quality where ball seems to stick to the player and the ball is never wasted. Same with Hannibal also.

If kept, would be a good squad player but best if he extends his contract, goes out on loan then either comes back a better player or is sold.
