I feel like we were robbed yesterday, Clear penalty for the challenge on hoijlund and I still can't see how Garnacho was off! Var is the biggest scam in football.

I’m confused how anyone can say he’s not offside, just sounds so bitter, he’s clearly off.

Better performance though especially 2nd half, inches away from a 2–1 win.

I'm confused how anyone can say he's clearly off but there you go.

It’s not like the lines are even that close, the defender just about pulls back and leaves Garnacho slightly offside, he looked off in real time and looks even more off on the pictures, so close but not to be, no point in arguing it as it’s not going to change.

This is the thing though, he looked onside in real time and even from the still pic Salibas head looks past Garnachos shoulder which the commentators even referenced before the decision was given. I think we can feel hard done by tbh. But I'd imagine Arsenal said the same thing last season at old trafford. Var for me has changed the game for the worse and to top it all ex ref Mike Dean was giving his 'unbiased' opinions on the decisions after the game.

Garnacho was offside. The End.

I would not complain much about Rice's goal. Evans should have gone down earlier. There was a clear penalty on Hojlund, I don't know why that was not even viewed at. Studs up challenge on Bruno by Saka, if that was earlier last season, this challenge would have been yellow, but this season when yellow cards are showered on tiny tiny incidents, Saka's should atleast have been viewed by Var.

Garnacho was not offside, the decision was made in such a hurry. Anyways we played really well when Hojlund came on. It was exciting to see a striker apply himself physically on arsenal defense.

Intenational break and we will surely see more commanding performances by players.

They did not show a replay of the incident and I just saw a video posted. 100% penalty and now I can see why eth is fuming. Go have a look. Nothing in the news about it, typical.

The offside thing is offside as i assume the lines and technology is a lot more accurate than what we are seeing on our screen.

We can at least take some positives away from yesterday. I think we had a gameplan that was near perfectly executed but for the disallowed goal against a very good Arsenal team who I think will be right up there at the end of the season. Hoijlund did more in 30 minutes yesterday than Martial has done for 12 months and will help the balance of the team he looks a handful. The defence is definitely a concern though, we can't be finishing a game with Leicester 2017 cb pairing. I was more concerned after the win against Wolves than yesterday but we really need to start taking points off top teams away from home.

GD,

Totally agree with everything in that post mate.

I never got to see a replay of the penalty incident, so can’t really comment on that. The offside incident was frustrating though. Perhaps he was off by a millimeters or two, but I was under the impression that VAR was only supposed to intervene in the case of a clear and obvious error. How anybody could say that was clear is beyond me, and so as the flag never went up, I would have expected the goal to stand.

None of this changes the fact that our performance was nowhere near good enough, but it would have at least allowed us to head into the international break on a positive note.

He was offside. It would’ve been a soft pen.

We didn’t quite have the luck we needed but there’s positives to take from yesterday.

The biggest being Hojlund. How refreshing was it to see a centre forward imposing himself on defenders. The lad looks so strong, and without wanting to put too much pressure on him, I hope he becomes the focal point we’ve been de desperate for.

Hoijlund was like a breath of fresh air. He didn’t get on the ball much, but when he did, it usually led to something happening. Even when he didn’t, the way that he put himself about and off the ball runs gave the defenders something to think about.

Let’s just hope Varane and Martinez are fit again after the international break, because if we have to start Evans and Maguire against Brighton I can see them tearing us apart. They just demolished Newcastle, who arguably have the best back line in the league.

Add to all this that the corner leading to Rice's dubious goal shouldn't have stood. Disgraceful refereeing imo and like I said referees sometimes deserve to be told off and then some!
